Why not? Even the foreign workers with construction skills moonlight (after their work) with quite a few renovation companies. They will be doing painting or wiring, or area cleaning on site (so long as there is no noise, so people cannot complain).
Some of the really good (and smart) ones even managed to do tiling or screeding at night if the conditions are right.
The last time I know for locals or malaysians to be working at night for these jobs, the rate was $150-$200 per night, of course foreign workers get less.
It is not funny actually more like ignorance.
