my 1 cent worth..
I see seafood in vietnam as multiple levels.
there is difference between cities and even in a city itself.
eg in nha trang I can eat one fish cooked 2 ways costing me 800 at a local joint.
yet at vung tau, at a road side, I eat a big plate of shellfish, 6 big crab legs ( they go by legs which is all good for me), 6 big prawns , 8 scallops for 300k.
so it's which do u want...ambience...or value for money.

I love to eat prawns, beef, crabs and fish. I meant overprice is that most of the time the Crabs and Prawns are more expensive than Singapore.

for crab,with roe cost more expensive...buying from the market cost 300k/kg and normal restaurant will cost abt 500k/kg....is that more expensive then Sinkie???

as for prawn,the most popular is tiger prawn..and do note that prawns here are usually live prawn..no restaurant or eateries sell dead prawns..the price at market is 280k/kg and restaurant price usually is 450k-500k/kg.

i dont know the exact add for crab place at Thanh Da as i ride bike there and dunno the unit number.tell the taxi driver "Lau Cua Thanh Da" and i am sure they will know.

if u look at the menue its 150-350k per kilo depending on type of crabe, mae or female etc etc then add cooking fee, this palces is filled by 7pm, with the bigger crabs gone, many car drivers come here ie well to do people, hardly any foreigners from my experience..or thsoe that are clearly foreigners

When are you going there again?

From my experience the one in ten lusa is just as godo if not cheaper than the one in thanh da/binh quoi...if anything ten lua is more localised ie guys come on bikes rather than cars...i would suggest u stay in ten lua if its closer...no real advatage going to thanh da

To a certain extend I felt the price just either a bit expensive or same price in Singapore. Normally Zhu Chow Stall price is about there. If we compare to restaurant, yes VN a a bit cheaper.

Yup I do agree, but the crabs there in Ten Lua are more cheaper. If I don't remember wrong, it is just about 250k per crab there cos there are many motorbikes going there. I will post the exact agan in December when I'm there again

Did not know ticket for Dec and Feb are that high in prices...anyway no choice since in my line cannot plan too far already.
