Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)

@Quick run down of last trip 22 to 27 May.
If you looking for sleaze better dont read cos I dont write about it.

Stay with bro gsk for 3 nights. Since bro gsk is on his 1st cheong trip to HCM I thought its best to stick within D1. We dont speak viet and bro gsk dont drink..so places like discos and karaokes we give it a miss.

Daily massages..1st one from Le Duyen 4 , of which room cost 300..haircut 130..tip to massage girl 300. A bit costly but well worth a visit.

2nd day was a massage in pham ngu lao..surprisingly very good massage too. Add a 'special'. 140 for massage..300 for girl. I like this one cos all the girls there were cheerful..funny and can speak a bit of English.

3rd day massage was another really good place I found from wechat. Actually bro smallplayer found it last trip. This time have a sign say no need tip..all included.Superb foot and body massage at 220..and I still gave a 100 tip. Well worth a return trip.

As for bars..we recced those in HBT..LTT and PGL. Last trip I said I went to 91 HBT..I was mistaken..its actually next door called Blanchys T. 91 bar has been closed long time ago.

HBT is literally dead so went nearby LTT. Bars mostly had Jap signs. Girls were soso..went to Moon Night..drinks were 40 for a beer..80 for lady drink.Girl quoted USD 100 for ST.Will not negotiate so forget it.

PGL however has many gems.Need to walk and talk. The bar setups here more open but most have no A/C and cramped so not really a place to chill. Good thing is money spent on drinks can offset for barfine or tip for lady. Bro gsk had 1 sweet gfe girl for 1 million dong. Room was 100.

I personally went to massage in PGL a total of 3 times. Never disappointed. In the last place the boss even blanja me a beer.

Our souvenirs were Green Bean cakes and coffee ..of course.

Food is a fav of mine as I truly enjoy vietnamese food. I found a very nice restaurant selling be thit bo in D7.. barbequed veal. Heavenly.

Basically we had an enjoyable trip so for bros who dont speak viet dont fret. You can enjoy too as we did.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)

Live in residential district will feel the difference from tourist district. In places with many foreigner sure many pesky vendor trying to peddle rubbish to foreign people. It is the same with any poor country.

In D1 & D5 from my previous trip when i go shopping, many people already mistake me for korean or japanese. Outside tourist area, less foreign people stay there, hence the local tend not to look for chance to chop foreigner.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)

Hi Guys,
Is there a new rule that foreigners who accumulate more than 180 days in Vietnam will be barred for entry and would require a special working pass?

Never heard before but it's better you get their some special business pass. Can't remember clearly what pass already. Many foreigners made use of this pass for other purpose but authority close one eye.
