Medan has Lake Toba, and lots of bird nest. Most people go there for business or relaxing in country side life, or sight seeing. Other than that, if you are looking for KTVs or bonking fun, it is better to go Jakarta.

Backpacking in indonesia? I hope your bahasa is ok, or you go with someone who knows the language.

lake toba is a lovely place, so is danau maninjau....on sundays, batak syt are in their sunday`s best attending church, a beautiful sight.....many years ago, ah pek was offered a syt to bring home...haha!!!!! to appreciate the place, best is with a motorcycle.....

But this year heard will be close for the first 3 days, last 3 days and the 15th day of the puasa month.

Saya uda rencanakan ke batam panggil ayam pada tanggal 3,4,5 September sesudah bulan puasa.

Noted that especially during festive season period like hari raya, CNY, etc:

1) Booking Joint will up their cewek fee by 10-30% since most cewek already balik kampong, only left some cewek and supply cannot cope with demand..

2) Ferry ticket price may also up during the puasa period.

Remember this year chinese new year period wavemaster naik harga by $7 from $48 to $55 return ticket (from harbourfront to harbourbay)

3) KTV joints bill most likely will up by 10-20% due to shortage of PR & PL cewek. (sitting gal and booking gal)

4) Cab driver will also charge higher taxi fare as they need money to spend for hari raya puasa.

5) Hotel accomodation price will also up by 10-20% due to peak season.

Therefore think it is better and more economical to go after the puasa month.

Reason being cheaper and more choice of cewek to choose....

Anyone with good driver contact in Tanjung Pinang? My bahasa is minimal survival level only and the driver I had operates off the northern part, too long a trip down to TP.

Not to forget that during puasa month, more police going around trying to get more money for Idu fitri too....


Those who likes to take drugs should be more careful too.

Also be more aware of pick pockets and petty crimes. Afterall, they want money for new year!!!

Can any kind souls help? Very poor in bahasa indon.

My pulsa suppose to expire on 10 Jul. But yesterday recd following message:

Masa aktif habis. Sisa Pulsa Anda Rp5520. Batas isi ulang 09/08/2012. Pastikan aksi SPIDERMAN terbaru.

My question is can I still recd sms? Can I recd call?

I am using simpati card.

Just top up lor. Simpati top up card very easily avail at most ah being counters. Not sure but I think should still be able to receive SMS n calls. But then, you're overseas. So may need pulsa for roaming. My Simpati always for 50k pulsa one. So not sure.
