How did you dig up my secret past life. I must confess you are also correct although I don't know how you guys do it. Some of you here are indeed great detectives and have excellent memories. Do some of you work for MI-6, CIA or Sgn secret service??

Guys beware
Ben Moore ?? Distilled and Blended ?? Well, go for Single malt Pare, skip Blend if possible ..

As for liquor, Filipinos can say fuck all, but they never learn to 'time manage' liquor. I was in one bar in Peurto, and Black Label taster like acid water .. and well, I insisted that I see the bottle .. and the bottle label look like 1950's label. They never dispose expired bottle, and keep it forever, as they believe, or taught in their HRM schools that Hard liquor never expires .. screw them .. hence I ask to see the bottle and if the label looks like it has lived through Vietnam War and Marcos Era, I give it a miss ..

As for Tanduay, at another bar, I ordered Mojito, and one sniff, I almost had to call the ambulance .. when I asked what was the rum, the staff said "rum" and then insisted that in his school, they said any rum is ok ..

I got the urge to shoot the bastard ..

Never use local rum, in cocktails, and nothing like Bacardi or any good coconut rum .. and never, for fxxxk sake, use TANDUAY TOILET BOWL SPIRIT ..

I know, beachside, sipping Mojito, and my evening was spoilt again in Bora .. when the same shit happened at Obama Grill ..

Damn .. I avoid cocktails at any filipino bar .. and premium - except in Manila / Havana / MBC, I am bit wary of ordering them in any third class bar ..

PS: Chief, 400 to 500 peso ? that is about 15 $ right ? How much do you think is the wholesale price of Liquor ?? Screw Duty Free .. but, if you are getting from a wholesale importer, they can get bottles at 22 S$ or so .. to 30 S$ .. then again, in Philippines, they use a lot of 375 ml bottles, and even bump of 200 ml bottles, so, small bottle at that price, yeah, possible ..

And never argue with filipinos, they will swear that there is 750 ml or 1 liter bottle .. and they have been all over the world (in terms of screwing guys from all over the world .. without leaving their home .. )

I can tell you 1st hand (don't need one that lives in AC). HoneyKo is a main and standard hangout for AngMos and expats. Girls here are friendly but not many SYT. Small bar with a VERY SMALL dance stage.
No happy hours here but beers are cheap enough anytime.
5000p
My opinion is any BF over 2500p is insane and I have never paid anything over 2000p BF for AC, not worth it .

Yes, I remember my 1st times in PI and thinking a bar is a bar had order some liquor. Bad move as it was either water down or just junk from some rice farmers back yard. Phantom was with me back then and his great advice to me was only order drinks that are newly opened. So thats why he said to stick to only beers at the bar and for any hard liquor, don't order at the bar but buy your own (or bring own from Duty free shops) and drink it back in the room.

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

5000, is the money, that I don't even spend in Manila well, some people got $ to throw, and of course, I don't think they spoil the market, as the girls will ask 5,000 and then realise not many taker, and then price go down ..

And the higher the price, the screwed up their attitude .. and they expect you to 'treat them lady like ..' etc. etc. . if I want so much lady like I go find GF I don't ill treat, but expect me to fall over you after paying $ ? no way jose'

As for liquor, as you mention, that is why I sometime prefer to stick to beer bottle .. and I don't fancy myself drunk in some god-forsaken place .. I prefer to do that in Singapore ..

Now if waitress was too pushy (the type that bothers you for LD all the time, must choose girl already--you know the type) then my tips start going down to zero.
The higher end bars on Fields, I usually give 20p (even with only 1 beer) if the waitress was nice, but again will give less (or zero) if pushy and bitchy.

And also just for the record, I had never tip a waitress over 20p.
Note: Locals almost never tip.

Hope this helps.

Thats scary.

But the mis information campaign has succeeded.

A lot of people beliwve the underage girls story

I heard that All the girls working there(none underage) had to also pay a "large bribe" to be released. As of last week, the owner remains in custody due to inability to pay for his release on the charge of having underage workers even when none were found. Welcome to PI

Forgive me if I shamed you accidentally. I travel everywhere in the Pi and get to buy the cheapest stuffs. Even AC is expensive for me now. But who knows,... I may die faster with my 2p tabs.
