Most pub there is lose money business,supply is way more than demand,one whole plantoon of girls with hardly not more than 10 customer walk in for some pub,frequenly change hand with owner trying to cash out due to daily bleeding,not only pub,eatery cater for foreigner business also cannot last,cheap rental and cheap labour but barely can survive and don't talk about profit

Happen to talk to 2 local before,one run a pub at riverside area but pub close for renovation and another new owner take over 3 months after I chat with him,another one takeover a eatery with guesthouse on top,good review at tripadvisor but also now looking for people take over

I'm still contemplating whether to skip Cambodia as 1 week before Khmer New Year seems like not a good timing to travel by land and cheong.
Same like Bangkok I always siam going there during April as I'm not into the cultural festivities.

It seems to me Phnom Penh is not attracting the right kind of tourists with higher spending power.
No offence to the regular cheongsters there.
I'm also a budget cheongster.

Thailand is always talking about attracting the atas higher quality tourists but they are kidding themselves lah.
The selling point of Thailand is due to the value.
Much more so for western tourists but not for me any more.
When they convert their USD, GBP or EUR to THB and spend of course damn song lah.
We use SGD or MYR to convert THB and spend where got as powerful as them?
