If you go Manila, look for Hap Chan restaurant, got quite a few around town, 2 in Malate area itself. As for AC, I did not find any chinese food worth talking except the one just opposite the Pagor Casino there. Cant remember the name. There is a very good and decent massage centre there too by the way!!

If they are good then I'll book and not miss out but will hold off if you guys think fares will be cheaper. Not sure how often Tigers or AirAsia have cheap or free seat deals to and from BKK.

And .. from what I remember the times I took Philippine Rabbit, it was always non-stop, apart from stopping for the on-the-fly-pulutan sellers .. who jump in at stop 1 and get off at stop 2 .. and repeat in reverse .. and pay a cut for the driver/conductor ..

I do believe the free hourly shuttle to Checkpoint is still running. Check with the info counter there. Avoid the trikes if you cannot get the price you want. Go to the jeep stand and see what's available.

Most foreigners will be shocked at how salty filipino cooking is. I guess its because salt is used to preserve the freshness of ingredients at source.

I was at the fish wholesaler and I saw the packing of fishes in boxes. Salt was freely thrown on the fishes before it is sealed for transportation. This salt gets absorbed into the fish and after time the taste buds of filipinos adjust to a higher tolerance of salt. Leaving us foreigners not understanding why their food is so salty.
