Re: Danshui (DS) Recommendations
I have not logged into sbf for at least a month as I was on an extended business trip to a place where I have very limited, and usually no internet access. There are still places in this world that are not as lucky as we are. This is just a quick update of the current status in DS.
One thing that I have noticed over the past years is that no matter how hard the GA struck in their YD activities in DG, DS seems to be immune to such YD activities. Although the managers at the SNs that I visited in June have told me that there was an ongoing “provincial level” YD going on, things still looked pretty normal to me in DS during that visit. That’s why I was surprised to hear that GA actually raided some SNs and even took away MMs from some joints (including those established ones on KaiCheng Street) – that’s unheard of in DS. But I was told that those raided are those without strong “hou tai” who did not show the “respect” to GA who already forewarned the SNs to maintain a low profile. The SN activities are considered somewhat negative for the “harmonious society” promoted by the officials. Indeed, when a friend visited DS in early July, he found out the SN at the Century Garden (supposedly 5-star) was completely shut. He also noted that many hotels even have their flashing neon advertising their SNs services turned off. He was then told that Huizhou is the host city for this year’s Guangdong 13th Provincial Game that was held from 5 to 16 July, and thus GA has instructions to “clean up” places as far north as HeYuan, and DS to the south. Some of the hotels in DS are also hosting the officials and participants of the Games. In fact, the newly built sports complex at nearby Daya Bay was hosting the women soccer games. Things are slowly moving back to normal, now that the Game is over. However, Huizhou is also hosting the 6th Provincial Para Games that will be held from 2 to 8 Aug, so the SNs will still keep a low profile. Nevertheless, I was told that many SNs are still open to regular customers, and using tactics such as hosting the customers on hotel floors that are not normally the SN floors. Regulars must also call up to pre-book and many MMs are not wearing their sexy uniform. Those slightly further away from the city centre seems to be more open. I have also chatted to a couple of MMs I know from the SNs, they told me they are both still working and things seem to be back to normal. I hope to be in DS next week and will give an update from the field. Meanwhile, best to keep low profile. Everybody is expecting the GA to do some “clean up” before the upcoming Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou from 12 to 27Nov’10, and hopefully DS will not affected too much by it since only Santou will be hosting the sailing event. But DG being a co-hosting city may attract more attention from GA. And Guangzhou will also host the Asian Para Games from 12 to 19Dec’10. I might as well also mention that SZ will be hosting the world university games next year. The Universiade 2011 will be held from 8 to 12Aug’11 in SZ. Why so many big games and expo in China, one may ask. Well, the Chinese love “face” and such mega events will bring lots of perceived prestige. But the main reason, I believe is because such mega events are “gold mines” for many officials with self-vested interests. Event such as the current World Expo in Shanghai must have created many instant “millionaires” – maybe that’s what they meant by socialism with Chinese characteristics. |

Re: Danshui (DS) Recommendations
Reporting live from DS, where I’ve visited four SNs over the weekend and glad to inform that things are slowly getting back to normal, although the SN managers told me they are still trying to keep a low profile. The 6th Provincial Para Games in Huizhou has also officially closed last night, but the locals expect the GA to continue with activities to promote “创平安、迎亚运” associated with the upcoming Asian Games in Guangzhou. I was also told by one of the SN gals that she was given 3 weeks off from early July, and she & many others just came back to work beginning of this month. And the gals at one popular SN were wearing their usual see-through uniform and the place was crowded when I visited around 9.00pm.

Re: Danshui (DS) Recommendations
Very true – that’s what one of the gals was telling me too. And I also noticed many new gals in all the SNs I’ve been to on this visit. In fact, I requested for a particular # I met almost two months ago at one SN, but another syt turned up. Luckily for me, she looks good and even better than the previous one in performance. I did ask her what happened to the previous gal, but she has no idea since she just arrived only a few days ago. The fact that she was given a recycled number probably mean the other gal is not returning.

For me, I don’t have any favourite SN because I am determined to try out as many SNs as possible, both old and new in DS. Some have been good and some not so good experience. Some with hardwares that left much to be desired (typically due to the Chinese lack of maintenance program), and yet I met real gems at such places – e.g. the old HengJing is still popular and also where I have good experiences at only 258 for 100mins. There are also other older places that offer competitive deal (e.g. 138 for 70mins) and therefore popular with the budget-conscious. And if you prefer places with better facilities, just head straight to those that are newer or recently renovated. Finding gems at SNs are no different from what you experience at KTVs – a lot has to depend on your luck, but at least at SNs they will usually try their best. Of course, the gals are all very mobile and do hop from one joint to the other. And I will just walk to the SN next door if I didn’t get one to my satisfaction – never had a problem because the last call at most SNs are around 4:00am! I’m also a loner in DS and I can’t really give a rating other than its perceived popularity based on the crowd I see. And the popularity can be deceiving – for example, I’ve been to one that is obviously very popular base on the crowd I saw when I walked in alone one night for the first time. And yet I saw mainly meaty gals that border on being “pork chops” although they all have one common denominator – that is, big boobs. The Manager then explained to me that the mainly mid-age customers go there because of the big boobs gals, and was surprised that I chose one who was comparatively slimmer and A-size gal. Maybe those mid-age towkays all have flat-chested wives and/or gfs and living out their fantasies at the SN. You can’t be serious, are you? You need to do your homework. I can understand if this thread has hundred of pages to read through, but the answers to your questions are within first 20 posts of this thread. Don’t be lazy! |

Update of HZ
Just came back from HZ. All the sauna are 'closed' openly and only take in regular customers in hotel rooms. All 'sauna' neon signage are not allow to on. This has badly affected the sauna business and most of the old gals have shifted to 'qing yuan'. However, a lot of new bloods has come in to HZ from DG.
All ktv operated as per normal, however, the business is not as good as previously. This is because most of the customers are HZ locals (maybe scare to be caught by gongan and informed their family). So maybe this is the best time to cheong ktv as many gals are desperate for business.

Re: YD
Hi liveforever,
From Hong Kong airport, go to terminal 2 and look for Eternal East Cross-Border Coach counter. They are the only coach provider to go to Huizhou from what i know. The URL is http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/t...-services.html. If i remember the price is about 200HK dollar per trip and the time frame is from 0800 to 1900 only. So make sure your flight is within that period else there is no coach services to DS. Buy with them a return and check with them the dropoff and pickup point. I am not too sure about DS as most of the time i hang around HZ city. Hope that helps. |
