If you come from HKIA, the route should be Hongkong >> CP >> Huizhou >> Danshui >> Zhuhai.

Yes, entry point most probably HKIA. I was thinking the other way. DS > Huizhou > CP > Zhuhai > Macau > SGP.

Seldom see Bros posting about DS (the thread not very popular). So want to explore a bit. CP was last minute add on. Dun wish to have too high hopes. A lot of Bros have good things to say abt CP though.

There is a DS thread which is quite detail. DS is mainly for sauna and cheap seafood. If you are not sure where to go, maybe you can book thru' xin gan xian (新干线).

The whole crux of the matter is sucks timing when reach SZX. Yet, SZX is like a gateway into places like CP, DS, Huizhou (I prefer not putting HZ as Bros might think it is Hangzhou).

Anyway I check the budget air ticks price and think HKIA offers better timing and it is not really that expensive comparing w flying to SZX.

The pricing between flying to SZ n HK is not big... very small matter of facts..

but SZ timing is more suitable for working class.. cause only need to check in around 5pm.. so just need to take a half day or some time off in office to get away.. dun need to waste 1 whole day of leave.. u know lah.. leave is very hard to come by..

And the travelling time need to get to places from SZ compare to HK is also a lot faster. Save time also. eg, from SZ-CP 1hr. HK-CP 2-2.5hrs. more travelling time needed. more tire after reach..

So in ur case, like u mention that u will have tons of time on hand, flying in from HK will be better, cause HK offers so much more different timing which u may choose from. Or u can fly in to SZ by slikair, the best option if u can spare the time n money. It's more ex, and they dun fly everyday..

anyway just enjoy ur trip.

Flying in using Silkair is CK's method. He got tons of $$$ and entire luggage case stuff (should be a flame red case w white adidas logo) w Mao dollars.
I had heard taking coach is quite tedious....guess I have to experience myself.

RMB exchange rate getting better....no reason not to go PRC land.

The temperature in HZ is different from CP by 1~2 deg.C. Hear from my gal, the weather is still hot now. Based on my past experience, in Jan, the temperature will drop below 20. But not 100% sure, as climate change liao
