A machine that is meant to run on the whole season.

So we are not just on good form. The machine is working well.

We have conceded one goal in these 12 games.

Scored average of 2 per game - which means we should have won them all.

Drawn one of our home games and won the rest. No one is going to come to Anfield now and hope to get something with ten men in front of their goal.

We have won all the games in which we have scored first.

Away, I admit we got to improve. And also need to show better composure when we concede.

Believe me, Rafa is on to something. In the seasons to come, if he gets the players he wants, we will go on long winning runs. Last season's runs, like this season's run, were no fluke.

I agreed with you on this.

My only headache aginst Rafa is to appeal to him to get some 'hard' players into the squad.

Whenever we play against A-Bengs team in EPL ( Bolton, Portsmouth, and tec... ) this games tend to be 50-50 odds....

We need to be able to match this team in the physical side of the game.

Once this misalighment is realighned, I think we should be able to play very well week in, week out...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

BTW, I see lots of REDS today in the streets , markets and shopping mall.......

Wonder what happen to the Blues ??

I would like to share with all of you a little incident.

After lunch @ kopi-tiam nearby, I was on the way home when I ran into a neighbour of mine.

He was trying to avoid me.

I stopped him and made small +++ with him.

Of course eventually, we will +++ to yesterday game....

He said we were luckly to win and all the bullshits...

I ask him one question.

ME :- '' Okie... our win was lucky.... btw HOW COME YOU NO WEAR YOUR CHELSEA JERSEY ?? ''

HE :- '' Huh........ silence.................... ''

ME :- '' Well........... ?? ''

He :- '' Pai-say to lose to your team mah..... ''

ME :- '' I though you say we were lucky to win ?? ''

This chat made me ponder a question guys.....

Look at your Chelsea supporter friend.

Is he wearing his jersey today too ??

Or he giving you another silly excuse...

I just glad that all the liverpool fans I come to know and respect,

WEAR OUR LFC JERSEYS whether we win, draw or LOSE.

We are not a bunch of fair-weather fans...

Think about it...

Look at your friend on monday int he office...

Tell him it was a good and close game...

Watch what he says.....

I dun think the players are allowed to get carried away ... for one, the rotation policy doesn't allow them to gloat over the victories & start daydreaming.
Last night, my asked "How come Rafa never even smile (not to mention jump for joy) when the boys scored against Chelsea?? This is the other point of significance ... Rafa is not a virgin who just received his first FL contact.

As for the question of THERE, I agree with you if:
1) THERE means winning titles after titles, year in, year out
2) THERE means we definitely gonna be crowned EPL Champions in May 07
Yes, we're not there yet 'coz there seriously is a job still to be done ... & to be done well too.
However, I must highlight that Rafa has put together a squad that can serve LFC well into the next decade ... but if 1 thing remains his utmost priority, it is a question of whether he can get the players running at top speed when the seasonal whistle is blow. Look at this season ... we just took too long to get the engine warmed & tuned to intended perfection - just hope the overtaking process can still take place before the finish line.

Lastly, a plea to all Reds out here ... whatever your religion, please put together a prayer for a Gunners victory over the Scums later tonite. This result will be in the best interests of LFC.

It's not just Chelsea fans ... there're even more Scum fans who chose to hybernate during the 70s & 80s. There's even a theory that they did so well in the 90s, only becoz of this accummulation of energy over the previous 2 decades.

What about me, you ask?? I've been wearing a Liver Bird tattoo on my chest since the Souness days - whether we win, lose or draw. Before that, I used to save up every penny off my pocket money to buy the Adidas jerseys though mail from the club shop ... you think I dun wear it every match day??

GERRARD: WE STILL HAVE A LOT TO DO
Paul Eaton 20 January 2007

Steven Gerrard reflected on Liverpool's brilliant 2-0 victory over Chelsea and declared: "It's a massive result, but we still have a lot of work to do."

First half strikes from Dirk Kuyt and Jermaine Pennant at Anfield have now taken the Reds to within five points of the Champions.

Gerrard admits everyone at the club is delighted with the result, but he's warned against complacency now that the Reds are closing in on the top two.

He said: "Any result at home is a good one for us but against the Champions it's extra special.

"It's a massive result for us, but we're still third and we still have a lot of work to do.

"All we can do is look ahead to the next game and the next performance and make sure we do the same things again."

Asked whether Liverpool were now contenders for the Premiership crown, Gerrard replied: "I don't want to give any headlines for the papers in the morning. The gap is still massive but all we can do is concentrate on ourselves and hope for more slip ups ahead of us."

PENNANT DELIGHTED TO BREAK HIS DUCK
Steve Hunter 21 January 2007

Jermaine Pennant said he was absolutely delighted to score his first goal for Liverpool in the 2-0 win over Chelsea and called it a special moment.
The winger beat Petr Cech with a fantastic volley from outside the box to set the seal on a fantastic team performance and a thoroughly deserved victory.

"To score a goal like that was very, very special and a great way for me to get my first goal for Liverpool," enthused the Reds number 16.

"There was not much on for me in the box so I just thought I'd have a shot and it was nice to see it go in.

"It was a great win for us and we still have to play Manchester United and Arsenal here. We have the best home record in the Premiership and we will just keep going and see what happens."

Anyway, I couldn't take on your invite as my baby cousin decided to get wedded yesterday ... looking ahead, perhaps you wanna keep us informed of such parties in the near future again?? I guess the next BIG match will be the Merseyside Derby on 3 Feb, followed by the key matches against Scums & Gunners in Mar.

What about you help us get a good table then?? I guess the Reds here would be more than happy to carry on our usual discussions face-to-face, over food & drinks. Any takers??

Wah bro, you are really a true walking dictionary on football. Impressed.

I hope Liverpool would be able to win a couple of trophies in a season soon. I believe in Rafa and think we should be able to do it, esp now with more investment money.

Cheers

Actually I am ont concerned abt players getting carried away. I am sure Rafa must have been telling his players not to be too happy. Like what you posted on Stevie G -- he also said we have lots to do yet.

I am more concerned about fans thinking that we have finally "reached" by beating Chelsea. And this is made worse by all the "form" talk.

But anyway, with this win over the Blues, our confidence will be higher now. Hopefully, this will translate into better performance and give us that last big push towards May 07.

I haven't checked the league table yet, but I tot a draw would be better for us? If Arsenal wins, they close gap on us. If MU win, catching up with them will be more difficult. Tot a draw would be better for all?

I am trying to get my son interested in football and getting him to support Liverpool too. So far so good. Quite impressed that he is now able to call our Gerrard's name and even recognize his face.

Not bragging or anything but I have found it more meaningful to wear my jersey when Pool lose.

Mine is old one, Rebook polo shirt with Carlsberg behind but still a jersey nonetheless
