Now they dun jump you on the streets. They rob you in your room. It is important to invest in a reliable and safe hotel whenyou cheong in AC. Forget about rental apartelle or budget motels. They identified one baddie today. I am sure he dun work alone so that means his accomplices are still out there. Bros take care and be careful. 23 July, 2010 - Serial Killer identified ANGELES CITY- Mark Dizon, a computer and electronics technician, was responsible for the brutal murder of at least 9 people whilst robbing 3 homes in the past 2 weeks, breaking the peace in Angeles city particularly amongst its many expats and tourists. The man is known to have psychological problems and bouts of aggression. He has also been linked to other minor crimes. An all-out manhunt has been started by every department of police in and around Pampanga and Balibago to hunt down the psycho killer If anyone has recently seen the man In the photo or has any valuable info for the police, please contact: Station 4: 045 322 2146 or PNP hotline: 166 |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
and one of the expensive hotels
Ha ha .. not stepping on your toes bro .. BTW, the hotels that are 1,500 peso and above, generally (in my opinion) are safe, and don't allow strangers to walk in .. example - Phoenix, ABC, LG, Savannah, Orchid, Clarkton (these are what come to my mind offhand ... ...) Those that are below 1000 - well, it is like a public bus terminal .. any time anybody walk in and out. And it the 'little expensive' hotels, the staff don't allow the girls to depart minus the guy. They hold the girl and call for confirmation .. unlike cheaper hotels .... BTW, talking of ABC - there are a few cuties there, who would not mind spending time with you ... and the only draw back is - your holiday is doomed - you cannot fuck another girl after that ..

The security here are armed to the teeth. Plus the boss Gerald has Station 4 Commander Lusito Tan as his personal bodyguard. Just a small info. Was in AC last week and stay in a hotel (name withheld) with my gf. Front desk clerk had both of us registered when we checked in. Me with passport and my gf with drivers license. We went out and came back in the evening at it was a diff guard on duty outside. He opened the door for us, which was electronically locked btw, and after i got the key and proceeded to the room, he stopped my gf and asked for her ID. the front desk girl quickly stopped the guard and informed him that she is already registered to my room. No issues after that. Felt very safe there although alot of folks have warned us of the particular street where a few robberies and shootings have taken place. I never felt threaten while walking there with my gf. Cheers ! |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Hi Bros,
I am going to Clark at the end of August, tried many hotels but rooms not available, thus I have to book Le Mirage Hotel, but many reports about scams in the internet warning tourists to beware of "scams" by this hotel staff. How far is this true? Appreciate bros who had been there could throw some light , thanks

English
I was going to pick on the "HIS" and "HER" thing .. As for Mirage - me too am curious .. Where are the reports ? 9 out of 10 times, people don't watch their six o clock, and then blame the hotel .. Always watch your six o clock - when you are overseas ..

http://canadafreeclassifieds.net/tou...llippines.html Report on excessive noise: http://www.tripadvisor.com (log onto Le Mirage Hotel, Angeles City) in which a Japanese tourist wrote about excessive noise that he could not sleep even with ear plugs on. Anyway, I switched over to TIGER HOTEL which is cheaper at PHP 1300 per room night

I - myself. Always keep suitcase locked, keep most money there - also hidden inside secret place, and never pull out money in front of girl - find some excuse to send her out like buy something if I need to dip into my secret stash, and always, always, keep my wallet also locked in the cabin suitcase. One thing I do - when I about to get into the plane, i empty my wallet, and only keep bare minimum stuff in the wallet. And the last few trips, I bought a slimmer wallet and only keep one credit card / atm card and driving license. rest all I lock up and put the other wallet hidden deep. Always - Be street smart. Even in five star hotel, if you leave money, the housekeeping pocket it you also dont know where you loose it. Same reason even my spare cheap phone - I always lock it - because it is not the phone that is valuable, but the content. (damn, a lot of bar girl contacts there ... ) I once saw a filipino kid in Malate playing with a Singapore IC - God knows where he got it from, and when we tried to ask - he just run off .. saying he just found it on the street (we- me and my Filipina Body guard .. ) And my body guard want to give chase, but I decided to cool off and leave it .. I am sure the kid's father/mother/sister picked it from a careless guy who left his wallet --- and while it may be a souvenir for the kid, only the one who loose it know it's value .. Also - same reason I prefer to pay bit more, take money in ATM, than to walk around with a lot of money (if a police man want to do body check, and find you have more than his one year salary - he has enough temptation to 'confiscat' the money .. - and sometime you don't know if real police or fake police .. ) Or I go to "safe" Money changer. and change small amount, and as much as possible settle big bills with card. So far - card in Philippines is safe - unlike in Malaysia, and anyway, I only charge on card for things like Dive trip, equipment and hotel .. And - I keep my expensive HTC phone locked and off, and keep a cheap Nokia for philippine use, and once a day, open the HTC phone and reply sms / and lock it back. Flashy phone = HTC = only 900 $ = more than 4 months pay for most people in place like AC (average factory worker earns less than 6,000 peso - about 200 $ - go figure .. ). Even if they sell for 400 $ that is so much money - I rather not tempt fate by enticing anything. Reminder again - BE StREeT Smart - don't blame the hotel - blame yourself if you loose stuff. Dont leave things for giving temptation ... (sorry if my post is long winded .. but the message is loud and clear I guess ... )
