My Professor's Daughter

This is based on a true story and names have been amended. Been procrastinating if I should share it and now since that she is getting married, I think should share this story of mine.

Back in 2012, when I was studying in NTU.

Me: Hey bros, there is this short term exchange coming up and we should try for it.
Jenon: Hmm but these are expensive and we low budget sia.
Me: True that, how about we try China exchange since our currency is "bigger"

So both of us went to sign up and got into the program!

Briefing Day so typical us, we are always seated all the way to the back

Me: Wa sian leh, why no chio bu around one?!
Jenon: Look in front, got one sporty chick bro!
Me: OK at least got some hope and let's try to get to know her

Approach the sporty girl named Angie
Me: Hi, I'm James, what's your name?
Angie: Oh hi, I'm Angie and from Business Sch, what about you?
Me: Oh I am from Engineering Sch. Its my 1st exchange, how bout u?
Angie: Yup me too, last one before final year and off to working life.

So I exchanged contacts with Angie and went off. She is a very sporty chick, not for bomb lovers (max small B) but she is slim since she is a avid badminton player.

So exchange went by and nothing much pretty happened as Jenon and I were mostly drunk n smoking too much. Angie is the kind of studious and listened to parents kind while I'm like Ah Beng to her. But the real adventure is when we were back in SG!

2 weeks after exchange and while I'm feeling bored, texted Angie. Note that she typically reply dead slow kind or take one day to reply.

Me: Hey Angie, I am at your hall, wanna grab a coffee?
Angie: Hmmm but I am having dinner with my mum now.
Me: What?! U smuggled your mum into the hall?!
Angie: Of cos not! She lives with me!
Me: What?! How to? I heard of roomie but never heard of parent as roomie.
Angie: Give me 15 mins then I see you downstairs.
Me: Alright.

So I patiently waited in my car (yes I have a car which my tutor job earned me.

Angie: Where are you?
Me: In the red car, come in please.

She entered my car.

Angie: Didn't know you drive, your parents car?
Me: Nope, I paid for it myself thru my earning as a tutor.
Angie: Wow, impressive! And where are we going? I thought we gonna drink at the canteen below my hall so I dress down eh!
Me: Hmmm let's go for Starbucks at Jurong Point kay?

After settling down at Starbucks,
Me: So how in the world your mum is in your hall?
Angie: Coa my dad is a hall fellow?
Me: Huh? English please!
Angie: My dad works in NTU so he is staying in the hall and we have a unit in the hall where I lived with them.
Me: Oh WTF! That's interesting! What your dad works as?
Angie: He......he is a professor in sch of engineering
Me: Wait! My sch?! Name name name!!!
Angie: Prof Sim XX
Me: Wa full prof and he happened to taught me before! So you are his daughter?!
Angie: Yes of cos! If not whose?!
Me: How would I know?!

The day at Starbucks ended pretty nicely with great convo about how nice her dad was (of cos I can't say shit n piss her off right?)

So we continued texting into the night...
Me: eh u not tired or ur bf won't msg u?
Angie: well I am not tired.
Me: u only answered part 1 wor
Angie: and yes, I don't have a bf

Inside thinking hosei liao!

Me: why would a smart, sporty and pretty girl like you not have any suitor? Double degree too stuck up is it?!
Angie: of cos not! I'm just focused on my studies and sports!
Me: and die a old virgin thereafter?
Angie: hey don't be mean!
Me: Hahaha alright alright wanna catch a movie coming Sunday?
Angie: but I have badminton session
Me: help, u badminton whole day mehhhhhh
Angie: okok but after 2pm cos I need to bathe 1st
Me: alright, Sunday 3pm I'll pick u up!

Movie Sunday

Me: Hey I'm downstairs at ur Hall carpark, take ur time.
Angie: Okie, coming down

So Angie came down in a sporty kind of dress, not those short kind but can see her nice figure

Me: ok let's watch a horror film cos noone want to watch with me
Angie: huh?! I hate horror and where got people 1st time watch horror?
Me: Me lor...thank u, u nvr say cannot n I bought the ticket

Purposely bought couple seat and when we entered, Angie was fine with it. Seems like a good indicator.

After movie, we went for dinner and a walk at the park.

Me: hey Angie, what's ur Cup of tea for guys?
Angie: no particular I am looking at
Me: huh? Ah beng like me can? U dare?
Angie: why not?

Heart skipped a beat and we happened to look at each other in the eyes. Inside thinking hosei liao,might as well try.

I leaned forward n kiss her lips. Her lips are those slim kind but it's nice n she didn't resist!

Me: can you be mine? As in be my girlfriend?
Angie: shyly replied yes

And so, we started dating as a couple
