these past few weeks, that many HCs are closing down, she was very
happy about this, and she said all wives will be pleased to know
of this too.

So, therefore there are a group of people (wives) that are happy about the raid.

So not everybody in Singapore is unhappy.

I have agonised whether I should talk to him or not. I finally say it out.

Early this morning I had the chance to have a word with my MP. Asked him to relay our concerns on the overzealous AV raids on licensed and established HCs to the Minister of Home Affairs. Informed him that there are many Singapore citizens (as HCs can only employ SCs, SPRs and Malaysian WP-holders) ranging from receptionists, locker boys to masseuses who are now out of job and facing hardships as a result of these HC closures. Not to mention the economic impact on suppliers, vendors and newspaper advertisement revenues. I told him that the Singapore Government has always adopted a pragmatic approach towards vice in the past. Why the change now? Hence, it is better to control and contain it with proper health checks and regulations within designated areas than to try to suppress it and drive it underground.

He did not seem sympathetic despite me telling him that the current business model only provide a meagre earning of $5-$7 per session to the masseuse. Yet he is one of the more approachable MPs among the lot. He said that there had been a few questions asked in Parliament regarding the mushrooming of spas and their services. This may have led to the current enforcement. He did end off by saying he may have a word with SMS Home Affairs Ho Peng Kee on this matter - not sure whether he would indeed remember. But at least some glimmer of hope.

In another related news, the current Director of CID will be moving on to head the CNB. Hopefully, with a change in Director of CID, there will now be new focus and new directions (and change in winds direction??).

Thanks bro for your word with mp. I suppose there are 2 sides to the situation. On one hand the govt is concerned about the business model (girl's pay) and health risks but on the other hand not to drive it underground. Just hope things dont go overboard.

with a new head, who knows he may be over zealous and carry out more intense raids?

Anyone familiar with spf knows where head of cnb is considered a higher and better post than head of cid?

If yes, then new head will more on. If that's considered a step-down, then new boss will not conduct as many raids as he knows what will happen next

CID should be higher post than CNB. Usually the director of the CID will serve for several years and later transfer to head the CNB, which is a more relaxing post (I think only deal with drugs).

The previous director of CID served for 15 years then transfered to CNB and as for this guy who had only serve for 1 year and kena transfered out. That is very abnormal. Also heard the new CID director had taken his post a few days ago. Hope situation will turn better.

I believe you guys know that sometime back last year or early this year that our gov came out a new rule that all massage gal from the Health Center have to go under training and got certified. Anyone know who appointed this only training center? The training center must have make tones of money….I think the one who appoint them also must be fucking rich by now….
So after all these gal got their certificate….now all the Health Center all got raid and close down….very dirty….right???

I think it's not just 1 training centre, there are many such approved schools around.

Same situation for the beauty/facial thing. Need to have something like this kind of certificates. Last time, quite a few FLs and TN regulars actually phoned me to sponsor them 7K to buy the certificates. There are a few such schools whereby you don't need to attend class, just pay 7K, they give you the certificate

I agreed with you, these training centres, beauty school got rich easily last year. Imagine each student pay them 7K to get the certificates.

the funny thing is they purposely switch pre-requisites.

1st, they said they need 1 WDA cert on massage, next they change policy and said they must get either 5 wda or 1 ITEC.

They get wda first, money spent, next get ITEC, money spent again.

yeah, they earn tons of money, and who knows, maybe some of the AV and licensing people got relatives or have private shares in some of these schools.
