For those bro who think that singaporean way of doing things especially for thinking will be the same as us,better think twice before marrying 1
Their culture and thinking is totally different from us.Those viet u want to use our thinking of 'Give a person a fishing rod and teach him to fish rather than give him fish to eat',u can try.
Their stubborness and thinking that foreigner are always rich will always be on their mind.
Some bro will say, mine is different but some culture and thinking will always be in their blood same as singaporean, kiasu or kiasi will always be on our blood
Their only mean is MONEY,give them rod and ask them to fish, forget about it if u are thinking about that
Can't say all Vietnamese are for money, there are also hardworking decent Vietnamese which I know.

I am not against your thinking of S'porean.
The reality is media has to be blamed for these terms, kiasu, kiasi.... They are making just a big hoo haa in news in Singapore.
In America, season sales, they are thousands queuing up for store to be opened but media does not use the word "Kiasu", the media will report a normal year end season celebration.
Media is a very power tools which can influence ppl thinking.

I guess you are referring to Thanksgiving Sales and Black Friday Sales in America...I was there last year end and had a chance to view how it was like...
I would say our " hello kitty" sale pale in comparison lol...
but in US its done in an orderly manner so I think that's why they didn use kiasi or kiasu...
i have seen and knew a few like this...personally seen greedy VBs and also hard working VBs...Haizzz....stereotyping is always there...but media will never waiver my thinking....
There are also greedy SBs and also hard working SBs...

Agreed with this. For many enterprising Vietnamese, they even had to make their own fishing rod first, given the war ravaged any opportunity of 1st gen businesses being passed down to children.
And they end up richer than many Singaporeans. Cash rich.

I also know a Viet girl educated here and started working but recently set up her own company here...
salute her for her enterprising spirit and guts...very hardworking too...

ya. give them the rod. maybe mine abit lucky. I will only give to her parents for cny n some times birthdays; never give to her sisters or bro-in-laws. Though I had lend my bro-in-laws money the seed money to start their trading biz. n they are earning at least enough to eat. n my wife help me chase back all the money.
of cos there are many request by grandfather or mother, uncle or auntie, I never entertain them.
I do agree the countryside ppl always think foreigners are rich but they are many hardworking ones ard.
