Was it just Las Vegas or is it the general AC scene that's seeing a slow down?
Any cause for concern?

You could try to look for your sweetie at the Genesis/Fantasy group of bars.
My 1st night barfine was an ex-Las Vegas dancer.
She told me about 30 gals followed their mummy to the Genesis/Fantasy bars.
And I took her on her 1st night at work in Genesis.
Excellent service, superb GFE, no complaints absolutely and stuck to me like a leech the next day until I had to chase her back @ 3pm cos it's inconvenient barhopping with her tagging along.

I cannot really comment on the general scene as I was only there for 2 nights. But based on my observations and talking to the gals, the mummies, hotel staff and sales people, the consensus amongst them is the tourist crowd has dwindled down.

Before I went to AC, I had many "no vacancies" when I tried to book accomodation, finally I managed to get a room at Swiss Chalet. On my arrival on 3rd December I found out the reason why.

The city council had organised a Mardi Gras (street party) that evening starting 5pm and held along Fields Avenue as the event was sponsored by the bars there. Many tourists were expected and they had a special tourist police unit + some pinoy marines to provide security for the event. But the entrances to Fields Avenue was blocked off and people had to pay admission charges to enter Fields Avenue, which came as a surprise to the bar owners. The event was meant to promote AC and free to all. Needless to say there weren't many willing to pay the admission charges and the event was a washout. Worse still it affected all the bars business that day with many owners reporting a drop of 25%-40% in takings. The bar owners are definitely not going to sponsor the next Mardi Gras event again. In many of the bars we visited that night, we practically had the place to ourselves.

The 2nd night was different. Many of the bigger bars were packed and we hardly could find a place to sit. Crystal Palace was the worst as we were ushered from the ground floor, to the 2nd floor, to the pool room and still could not find a place to rest our bum so finally the waitress ushered us through the back door into Dollhouse (they were connected).

My perception is that the bars along Fields Avenue is still thriving but the bars along the sidelanes of Field Avenue and towards Perimeter may have to close down due to poor business.

Overall it was an enjoyable trip for me as both my barfines for the 2 nights were fantastic, with excellent GFE and both stayed with me until I had to shoo them to leave.
