Actually I'm expected to be in Hsinchu on the 18th, but project got delayed a bit, now waiting for activation, could be any moment now, so you say leh....??

Actually, halal food is sold almost anywhere. As long as there is no pork. A1 is not that cheap anymore. You can get a better deal elsewhere. Harbour bay is not a bad choice if you consider eating near city area.

If further away, try Batu Besar.

Yes, standard is still the same. Almost all the food there is good, except steam fish. Which they dono how to prephare.

Some of the recommandations :banana leaf fish, kangkong, steam clams with shells, fried sotong, gong gong, etc.

I like specially their gong gong and the gravy which S'pore still cannot match...

Talking about seafood, my all time most favorite restaurant is still at Pungur ah kow's place. Their steam fish, it's 100% perfectly done.
In my book, it's THE BEST in Batam, Singapore and one of my Malaysian friends said even beating those in Malaysia....
