Unlikely I feel. Spurs suffered from buying too many players rather than just losing Bale. We are unlikely to buy so many players in this window. Our team does not just rely on Suarez. We might create less chances but there is still a balance in the squad.

Shaqiri would be an exciting buy too. Time for Coutinho to fight for his place. Lucas might find it harder to get a game too.

He's already a proven performer in epl n only 26 years young.

We could hv signed a non Englishman who plays for a top European club for say a cheaper 10-15m but his untested quality would hv been a huge gamble. He could possibly end up on the subs bench or treatment room for lengthy periods like some of our misfits in the past.

Hopefully our hefty investment in Lallana will reap us handsome dividends!

yes i guess we overpaid...alexi sanchez wld cost the most 20mil...but for me technically lallana is the best english player i have seen...non english players will need at least a season to get used to the english game...thats why spurs cld be very dangerous nxt season.

Chances of Suarez leaving is very high now. Barca has sent a team to Liverpool to neg the deal. Hopefully we can get at least 70-80 mil plus Sanchez.

latest news is that FSG is playing hardball with barca regarding suarez fee..barca told meet our valuation or get the hell out...well done FSG stick to ur guns dont let him leave on the cheap....every one tot that suarez had commited to liverpool when he signed a new contract, thats all bullshit ...he signed a new contract to insert a clause if a non english club triggers the buy out clause than he can leave...his agent screwed up the earlier contract....thats why he did not get to move last season and also FSG told him to honour his contract.its different in america u don t see nba stars breaking thier contracts or asking for a move. so fair paly to FSG...more clubs must have guts to follow suit.

Just like acceptance is vital to self-help, retaining some degree of optimism and faith is pretty essential if you work in football journalism. So it's healthy to start by hoping that the Uruguayan means all, or at least some, of what he said about reflection and contrition.

Suarez's apology consists of deftly constructed words, and it's likely there may be another agenda -- one that it's hard not to believe has driven this event.

Suarez wants to join FC Barcelona. Anyone denying this by now is in denial.

There is, you might argue, a case where an institution that trades on the motto "Mes que un club" (more than a club) would be the last to buy a man with Suarez's recent transgressions weighing him down.

Thus there has been a widespread understanding around the club and the Catalan media that the first requirement for the deal to happen is that Suarez apologize.

Those advocating the deal, and the massive investment, must have a basic building block -- namely, the ability to point to what, at face value, is the player not only realizing that he did wrong (a 180-degree about-face from his outrageous FIFA defence) but also pledging that nothing like it will ever happen again.

It's just a supercharged version of what is now commonplace in major transfer deals, particularly those involving Spanish clubs.

Club A wants to buy the star striker from Club B, and the seller is unwilling. The striker wants the move -- be it for higher wages, better weather, more trophy shots or just football feng shui. Club A tells him: "OK, if you want the move, you have to come out in the media and say that you are unhappy at Club B so that the price drops and the transfer mechanisms grind into action."

Thus it usually happens.

Out of respect for Liverpool, I must say that simply because one of the cogs is moving doesn't automatically signify that the engine will fire and the Ferrari will drive off, never to be seen again.

Ok, so we going to lose our top player (even tough I always say no player is bigger than a club), I just hope we can find a decent replacement after getting the huge fee for him and off-loading the 225k per week wage.

After getting so ever close to the title last season, I seriously hope we can fight for the title once again....it's going to be tough without a 30goals per season player tough.
