I'm scheduled to party with a Canadian and a Singaporean friend in DS Legend Dynasty KTV tonight
but the Singaporean friend was arrested in ChangPing (not Danshui) so my Canadian friend is visiting him in the shenzhen detention barrack with a translator to try get him out. He was caught ordering an escort girl to his hotel room in CP. We suspect that escort girl could be a policewoman, set out to entrap him Anyway, I'm stuck in DS now with a KTV room all to myself. Latest update, my Canadian friend managed to secure our Singaporean's friend release from the Shenzhen Detention Barracks.
I'm hoping that he would share more details on how he managed to do that soon. Another Veteran cheongster mentioned that if you are caught on the spot, try to offer 10,000rmb as bribe to get released. If you wait till you are delivered to the detention place, the bribe amount will have to be tripled = 30,000rmb. Any bro can verify about this? Note, our SG bro is entrapped in ChangPing, not Danshui.

The strange thing is Lotus road still a lot of girls giving you paper after 9pm.... one of the girls was very chio... at 300rmb a pop plus 30rmb transport. Again after reading your news, I was feeling lucky... No problem with KTV girls as I think safer.... One last thing to report. In the Jinsha ktv, my friend got a girl who was previously from CP Yihao. We had a chat and I asked her if Zhuhai KTV better or CP. And if got chance will she go back to CP... She said CP is much better and she will no doubt go back to CP if CP returns to its former glory. Her reasoning... in Zhuhai KTV, the cut that goes to the management is much higher. At 300rmb vs CP's 150rmb based on her 1300rmb price. Hence explain why Zhuhai's ST is so much higher proportionately... And in CP, more generous customers (less demanding). I leave it to you to determine from which country. Sad to say, mongering in China is getting tough... Oh really one last piece of info. I was in Guilin on one of the nights at the hotels near the train station. After dark a lot of "mummies" standing on the street, maybe Guilin got action. I didn't explore as I was with someone. Maybe soon we will have a Events in Guilin thread....

latest update on the arrest of a Singaporean bro last night in ChangPing.
What happened the SG bro was staying at a Hotel in ChangPing famous for having the best sauna during CP's heydays, he found a pimp using the "search people nearby" function in Wechat and ordered a girl to his room. Two GongAn policemen came banging on their door, one of them was carrying a video camera. they got the masterkey card from the hotel room which gave them access to his room. they arrested him and the girl. The two policemen wanted a bribe of 2000RMB each (total 4000rmb), our SG bro refused, thinking that the amount is ridiculous and decided to just follow them back and call for the help of Singapore Embassy. Back in the Shenzhen detention place, he called the SG embassy and it only offered to help call in a chinese lawyer on monday (it was friday night) Desperate, he called our Canadian lawyer friend SER001 who can't really speak Chinese, so he went to the detention place with a translator. Two police chiefs at the detention now demanded a total of 35,000rmb bribe (instead of the 4,000rmb bribe amount). At first, our bro SER001 wanted to just walk away ~ but the police chiefs kept retaining him and invited him to counter-offer. Our friend SER001 bargained it down to 16,000RMB + a 2-way ticket to Bangkok + accommodation sponsorship + vouchers for Nataree massage for the two police officers. How the 16,000RMB cash was split? 7,000RMB each for the two police chief, and 1000RMB each for the two junior police officers that arrested our SG bro. the two junior police officers were angry that they only got half of what they would have gotten so they released our SG bro (after he spent one night in detention) and destroyed the video recordings and all paperwork related to the arrest. Earlier i mentioned that i knew another SG bro who was caught 9 months ago, he didn't pay any bribe, there was no mention from the police officers that arrested him that a bribe would suffice. he spent 10 days in detention where he also met a Briton and an Indian who were arrested too. in a nutshell, CP seems to have become a more dangerous place for sex activities than before. Danshui, on the other hand, while being cautious, i can still see plenty of attractive looking women walking to work at Legend Dynasty KTV. After securing our SG bro's release, he decided to return to Singapore right away, and bro SER001 came back to Danshui to hang out with me. I managed to transfer my KTV booking away, we had a japanese dinner and we went to join FGG and his group at room 111 on the third level of Legend Dynasty KTV. it was a bigger room and we see more prettier girls tonight I met a very attractive mommy's assistant who was a former MM, she knows that i'm a regular in Legend and she tried pretty hard to charm me to give her ktv room bookings in future. in FGG's KTV room, i see many managers walking, all inviting us to drink more, looks like they are trying hard to push the sales of hard liquor... The rooms were all fully booked and i know of another group of friends went over to 金鼎 KTV instead. btw, the party scene in DS is still on the cautious side. The managers and mamasans of Legend Dynasty had a staff meeting where they were told to advise their girls to be cautious and refrain from going out with customers or try to stick to only customers they can trust. that's the situation for now.

Since there's no definite announcement on the re-opening date from Mongolia side. Plans to exit China from another border or by plane should be made soonest. There's no point in waiting. Overstay by 1 day is better than overstay by 3 days. China immigration may be more understanding if they see your effort in exiting China as soon as you can. Such overstay records are not good if you still want to continue to visit China frequently. Repeat offenders will get higher penalties or even jail time.
