Proximity to Nana is one thing, just be aware that lower sois are a Arab, Indian enclave.

Your hotel budget of S$40 and below range are very old and run down.
Just walk-in will do except weekends/holidays.
Deep inside Sukhumvit Soi 4 or try Soi 3.

Hotels around Soi Nana not cheap.
More decent ones are Majestic Suite Hotel about S$50+.
Nana Hotel S$50+. Old but opposite Nana Plaza!

I booked S33 compact hotel for my up coming trip during ndp weekend about 1 week back. got like 65% discount which work out to be around 50ish SGD a night and got free can of chang beer every night

and it's gf friendly

I ask bro tim from thai hotel. He quote me s15 at about 100 with breakfast not bad. But i end up book holiday inn sukhumvit 22 with my points since its only for 1 night. Next day go home sleep
