The rumours about AC started about 3 years (maybe 4-5 yrs ago) even way before all the bar raids started. Even then there were talks about "cleaning up" AC to make it more desirable for more upscale financial Intl money and investment to filter in and turn AC into a modern (god forbid) "family" destination.---- Yeah right, next to an active volcano no less--may as well build a new roller coaster around the volcano and call it the new Disney Space Mountain ride.
The main problem with AC is that the land around it is cheap and not a real tourist destination with beach and lakes for fishing but down side for us is that AC is home to something desirable for others --a major airport. Turning Clark airport into a major transit hub will mean having to clean up surrounding areas (for PI image) and downfall of all girlie bars. This had been rumoured for years now but sadly this time it does sound more serious and with more conviction.

Wonder which idiot made up all the new rules for AC bars. Sounds like the NGO are at it again trying to enforce their brand of morality (with of course some backing of outside gov't money--like in the case of my former favorite hangout in Cambodia several years back). Rumours started there years before it happen and now Cambodia is a ghost town compare to its glory days. Sad but true.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will not happen to my beloved AC.

Its sure wet here. While waiting for my friend to come, the sky unloaded its full load on my hotel. A hit and run. Now its a drizzle.
