Affordable: Majestic Suites - my favourite hotel. Clean but small hotel with small lobby. I suggest you pick a double superior or deluxe. The single rooms are a bit too small for you and a guest.

Nana Hotel: Famous hotel but old and has seen better days. I stayed there once. My first day there and already somebody died or got killed in his room! Please avoid.

You may wish to try a service apartment that's LB friendly. Their rates are not bad if you stay for 4 nights. Got LCD TV some more!

Just to add on to the list of guest-friendly hotel around Sukhumvit area:

1. Manhattan hotel (you can request changing your queen size to king size bed w/o additional charges, provided they have available king size rooms)

2. agree with Nana Hotel, not very conducive. Majestic Suites is also a good choice, but my fav still Manhattan Hotel. Cos after a few times, the Manager recognised me liao, and always agreeable to help me change from Queen to King size bed haha!

3. and asiarooms.com is a good website to check the prices and pics of hotels

4. but I think prices wise a bit different. Agree barfine is 600bt, but short-time is min 1500bt, and long-time min is 2000bt, usually 2500bt...been to soi cowboy, nana and pattaya quite a few times and prices are almost standard like that...hard to find cheap ones like in rowell...$30 = less than 700bt...so nowadays no point going BKK for LBs

I agree with you that it's cheaper to bonk the Rowell LBs than the ones in Bangkok but I like the experience of going into a ladyboy bar and be greeted by almost 50 chio ladyboys in bikinis. Feels like you just died and gone to heaven! You also get to bonk them in a nice clean hotel after shower instead of the Rowell dungeon with the bed bugs!

I have stayed in Manhattan before. Not bad, large rooms but I wasn't sure if they accepted guests without payment. A bit far from Nana (about 15 min walk) but closer to the action in Soi Cowboy.

Just came back from a short Bangkok trip. Your story is quite accurate only it is very low season in NaNa at the moment. Obsession on a friday and saturday with about 8 customers. Mainly Japanese. Most of them seem to enjoy drinking more than barfine a ladyboy. The problem is the rates some ask. Short time is still about to 1500 or even 2000 bath. Longtime can vary from 3000 to 5000 bath. The new generation partly lacks of skills and most cannot come. They all seem to have silicone breasts and are full of hormones. Most look like a girl but the problem occurs in the performance. Barfined some stunners but they simply couldn't perform. Some of the older generation are simply tired or even bored. Also some kept their high asking price. One even dared to ask 8000 for longtime which is insane. Last year I barfined this one and her performance was so and so. At that time she was not considered a superstar but now she is and told me to drop dead because Japanese would pay this. My answer simply was up to you.
Another problem occurs in the longtime agreement and payment but trying to BS you to leave earlier.Of course demanding long time payment. It even happened to me one time when I negotiated on forehand. Newbies should be aware of that too.
Imo the Bangkok scene is changing rapidly. Most visitors are far more interested in thai ladies than ladyboys. Only the ladyboys themselves seem to miss this point. Or they think a farang sponsor helps them out. Would they be realistic they would know life is not like Disney world.

But there are some hotels that will charge you a guest fee of 500 baht if you bring back a guest to the hotel. When you reach the hotel, the security guard will take the LBs IC for registration. THIS IS FOR YOU OWN SECURITY! If the LB steal from you, at least she can be traced.

You can also look for the freelancing LBs along Sukhumwhit Rd. No barfine and probably cheaper than the go-go bar LBs. But the danger is if she steals or drug you, you cannot find her the next day because she does not work in any of the bars. And she may carry a fake ID.

Many of the good-looking LBs from Nana work in Orchard Towers occasionally but you have to pay premium prices.

I guess most of the new gen LBs want to look beautiful and so pump themselves with hormones. I don't mind because I prefer a "bottom" LB but I am sure there are many bros out there who like to be dominated by a stiff-dicked LB!

Also I prefer ST instead of LT. And I think most of the LBs prefer ST because I think they don't want to sleep with the customer until the next morning. So they make up excuses that they need to go back early for some reason or other or get their LB friend to call them and say it was their "sick" mother etc. That's cheating if the LB had agreed LT with the customer.

Here's my policy:
1. Never pay more than 1500 baht for ST with a LB.
2. If the LB insist that you pay more than 1500, than tell her "thank you, please leave" and choose another LB. There so many LBs in Obsession, Cascade, Temptations and Casanova, I am sure you can find one that fits your "budget".

However I am not Japanese/Korean or Ang Moh so I don't get my throat cut by the LBs. In fact sometimes I am mistaken for Thai and, occasionally, refused entry into the bars. No LB has offered herself for 2000 baht or more. I guess it's good to be South-East Asian....we're neighbours of Thailand!

I forget to mention a few things. Out of boredom many lb's drink. No problem for me ( I don't judge on other peoples habits) but on the hotel one lb I barfined fell asleep. She revenged herself in the middle of the night by giving a stunning performance but I told her in the morning she should be careful because not every customer accepts sleeping on the job.
Also many lb's on NaNa are considering to start escort. Again they don't fully realize you have to be far more professional to be successful.
Further more clubs are cutting salary. If you don't make 10 barfines a month you get a big cut on your monthly salary.
About negotiating even some refused to go for 3000 bath longtime just before closing time. Only lb's from Tempations and Cascades followed that path. Even talking them down to 2500 bath a person LT for a double package. But Obsessions has a mood like the last days of Berlin 1945. It still offers beautiful lb's but in the current crisis only a few customers are willing to pay their prices. Time will tell what will happen there. But in spite of all the bad times no bargaining at Obsessions.
KCIII in Patpong is much cheaper at the moment. They offer a good choice too only beware of a few troublemakers who used to work at NaNa. You can spot them easy because they will approach any newbie very aggressively.

The rest of my trip I spent in Issan. A big difference compared to Bangkok. You can have fun there too only you need local contacts. I would advise any newbie not to go Issan without a local contact. I was amazed at the number of lb's I saw there. Some stunning ones. Only beware of underage. Check the ID.

Wow. Was 79 one of them?

If what you say is true than the houses will open later or quick to close at the smallest sign of trouble. If AV hit hard with many LB caught, the houses will probably close until further notice.

That is why I always ask Bros to get the contact numbers of the LBs, just in case the houses do not open. Most of them from this location stay in P... M, Bencoolen Street. We can then make private arrangements for day job
