I know I am gonna get zapped for this but here goes.... In cyberworld, many people think that they are anonymous and can say anything they want to without any respect or care.

However, in any real society, I will dare you to go to anyone and scold their parents, goldfish or doggie.... You say it to the wrong person (nowadays it does not need to be a guy), you either get your nose bent, or sued in court or your mug put on Stomp!

So in a way, I think that the pts system was developed as such. A peer review format where others will say if they agree or not agree with statements made by someone. Not saying that it is a perfect system, but this debate has been carried out in other parts of this forum. The thing is, even if we have 10,000pts, so what? If we have 1 pt, so what? Can we go to a girl and say that I have 10,000 pts on Sammyboy forum? Will be les of a cheongster if we only have 10 pts? I have seen people zapped to oblivion for making a remark some do not like. But they still survive in the real world. At least in this world, there is a chance to press ctrl reset. If you were to mouth off to the wrong people about the wrong things, then see if you do not see red.

So I guess the moral of the story is, we can say what we want, but we have to be responsible for what we say.... Perhaps someone will not like me and what I say and will zap me big time thinking I am a boss crony... so be it... There is always a ctrl delete and a new nick will appear and I am still me.

Don think u got my pt... DIBJ. If one were to be zapped into the negative, and if you feel that you have been wronged, just change emails, create another account and start from scratch... For your present account, you will forever remain in the negative unless you change and start to give positive comments. But I have seen a few people getting zapped to negative too. For me, like I mentioned before, points will not give you fuel subsidies or any thing that will make living life here any easier. It does not give you any plus point in the cyberworld too. So why frus over pts?

Just like to state my thoughts here on the rep points and zapping:

1. If I'm not wrong, boss Sam created this rep point system to self-moderate this whole forum, since it is quite impossible for the moderators to monitor every single piece of posting.

2. We have to accept the fact that there are ALL kinds of people in this world, us samsters included. Most samsters will appreciate the rep points earned because it fulfills a psychological affirmation that our participation in this forum is being accepted socially. This is the reason why many bros get upset over zappings, because this innate need for affirmation has been challenged and threatened.

3. I'm also sure that a number of us here who actively add or zap others do so constructively and objectively. However, there will always be some jokers who abuse the system to mass-groom clones to mass-zap as they can remain anonymous till the issue is brought to the attention of the moderators for investigation. They may do so to amuse themselves or to take revenge etc. To me, this is downright immature and childish.

4. Nevertheless, let's live and let live. We can't change the fact that we can get zapped for whatsoever reasons but we can choose to react maturely and continue to contribute constructively to this forum.
