IR means lots and lots of money, like some easy money. And up market establishment. I guess there would be up market health centres disguised as Spas, but we all know what's happening behind closed doors.

I dun think streetwalkers or FL would be allowed to hang around in the IR, just like you dun see any of them squatting in 5* hotels like Mandarin or Ritz Carlton.

In GL, it is like more of the same thing. More budget hotels, more run-down houses for foreign constr workers, more apartments rented out to FL - more of the same thing as the social fabric of GL become more accentuated.

I understand Geylang started in the 60s, it came to life in the 70s when the garmen cleaned up the Telok Kurau area and the brothels moved there. At that time Geylang had a number of bars and just a few "houses". It received a further boost when the Thai "aquariums" started. I think late 70s, early 80s (not so sure). Then of course, when the ladies from China appeared couple of years back it really grew.

to me, does not matter which place they shift.

but sometimes new place might means new facilities...new room...new ideas...new regulations...new business...and hopefully more new gals...better still, if the new place is more central...more convenience...

haha..imagine if they ever build a multistorey complex in turf for all the GL brothel to sqeeze in..den instead of shopping for clothes..we are shopping in a complex full of brothels...
1st floor KTV lounge
2nd floor- spa and massage
3rd and above- brothels
pent house unit for those extreme..haha

The plan is to tied in with the propsed sport complex. The authority is now studying the proposal from some international organization and once it is firm there will be some actions on the sports stadium, old Kallang airport, etc.

Let wait for the announcement in due course.

think the best place if geylang would to move to would be Marina South, becoz the new casino will be there, then most of the china wl will go there to stand too, then cheap hotels will spring up there too, moreover that place is quite secluded too since dun have any flats there, best place for new geylang to shift too!
