Sabadee . A few years back was officially invited to visit this Last Hidden Secret of Indo China. Also known as the Land of a million Elephants.
Provided on this 3D2n FAM trip are accommodation, food and tour. Only have to pay for the airtickets. Since my schedule is not so tight, so I went. This took place a few years back. There is no direct flight then. The only flight was from Lion City to Udon Thani by Tiger Air. I din used Tiger Air but I flew to Bangkok to meet up with my Thai counterparts first. Then I flew to Udon Thani via Bangkok using NOK Air. After that book a private car drove to Nongkhai and transfer to Vientiane via Friendship bridge. After got my Visa on arrival at the friendship bridge. We then cross over to Vientiane . On the journey I then realized I am not back to the future but back the the 60’s. Imagine from 90’s now you turn the clock back 30 years earlier.

Eberyday they will eat Sticky Rice and a green Papaya salad call Tam Mak Hoong aka som tam in Thai. Not forgetting the green Banana Salad Tum Mak Kuay too.

There is no KFC there, so I taught them Fried Chicken with a dash of Curry Powder . Have to dipped in tamarind + Chilli sauce b4 eating.My nieces luv it.
To Make the batter, I used flour mixed with corn starch , eggs , a bit of curry power and H2O. Salt, pepper and a dash of sugar is also added for taste.
There are some mamak shops near the Mekong river mostly from Pakistan. They also have roti canai.
