So are you saying that CL is more important than FA Cup? That he did nothing wrong by placing FA Cup as his second priority ? Dun get me wrong.CL is also important as it will increase the prestige of the club should they win.

Instead of finding someone to blame all the time, why not give Barnsley credit (especially their goalie and captain) for coming to Anfield to fight? Their winner was quite fortunate but their mentality was there.
Bro its just not that 1 defeat but a series of draws over the past few games. We have dropped so much points behind the 2 leaders. So what really went wrong ? Arsenal . Man U and Chelsea have been consitently winning games after games. Except for Arsenal who lost to Man U recently. We used to be a fortress in Anfield but now teams are getting results from us there ? Again where it go wrong?

Who will win a certain game will depend how hungry the team is. There was a classic case that a smaller team won against a much bigger team last weekend. The smaller team was much more hungry to win. They played very well (hope your agreed) and managed to overcome all the odds. It all depends on how hungry you are.
Bro Paiseh this is a LIVERPOOL thread.

Chelski, on the other hand, will have CL, EPL championship and Carling to choose. Infact, they have three choices!!! Why take a smaller cup when CL is waiting for the Blues?

1st, you talk about bigger and smaller club..
Now you talk about the hungrier 1...

So should Spurs lost to Chelsea cause Spurs are not as big a club or Spurs should win cause they are hungrier??

No disrespect to Spurs, I do like thier attacking football at times but they are not on par yet in terms of winning, maybe the odd Carling Cup or FA Cup.

Sorry to say so but I cant remember when was the last time Spurs won the championship and their last FA Cup was 1991 or 1992 when they won by an own goal from Forest Des Walker if I'm not wrong.. And a more recent Carling Cup?

But here at Liverpool, we won everything the most except for FA Cups and Cup Winner's Cup(Anyone remember this cup, which sadly we fail to win it even once)..

And for fans that got so used to sucess, it is indeed a long time to wait for the next championship..

In short, why dont you go back to your Spurs thread and decide about which you want, the smaller/bigger club or hungrier...

Good question and post bro niteowl, allow me to kepoh abit..Big or small team infact very sujective leh, imho to define that is as follow:

A)History and Legacy
B)Trophy won
C)Legend(players and managers)
D)Domestic and Overseas supporters
E)$$$
F)Youth Development
G)Stadium(should not put this, look at stadium of light)

Next we will see the dif between their trophy cabinet
Chelsea:
Top div League champion:3
FA Cup:4
League Cup:4
Community Shield:3
Uefa Cup:1

Spurs:
Top div League champion:2
FA Cup:8
League Cup:3
Community Shield:7
Uefa Cup:2

Just by compareing the trophy they have won,who is bigger or smaller??hornestly..
gong buey liao!!!(never ending talk)
Same thing will happen to us and those big guns when come into this issue..Below will be the change of words among the big Guns:

Gunners:Oei,do u'll know why we r the biggest club in English Football, cos we've not relegated for almost a century u know..meaning all along we've being playing in top div level, scum tell me how many times u slip down?and u pool, when u gain ur promotion?

Scum:u stay in top div for almost a century,so wat?..for fuck??if thats wat u called urself the biggest club in english football i think nottingham forest even bigger than u,they won 2 european cup,u lei?zero!!Look at us,under Sir Alex we won almost all the trophy in 22 yrs, compare with ur "so-called" 1 century..Bi Ka Mor ah!!!

Pools:dont talk cock here lah..thats y i called u scums..want to compare compare with us lah..League Champions,u lose..Champions League,u also lose!!!Remember the Champions League that u won 9 yrs ago? tell me where is it now?let me tell u lah,it is now display in our trophy cabinet in permanent basis!!tell me why lei??cant even protect the trophy u won!!

Suddenly,Chelski come into the pic:eh pool...tell me how many Barclays Premire League u won??explain lah, talk so much!!!

Gunners:hey Chelski..ur not even the members of G-14 u wanna join in to our convesation!! even they increase until 40 teams dont know u can join in or not??
and the exchange of words will continue...

So bro niteowl, bigger team or smaller team is really hard to measure under the eyes of individual supporters, but to me our beloved Liverpool always the biggest team in the world,we got 18 league champions under our belt,if not because of the Heysel disaster and kena banned for 6 yrs,i got every reason to believe we will beat juve, and overtake real to become the king of europe
.

My question is, if there is a new government with new methods, which is not easy to understand or popular at first, would you be patient with them or vote them out the very next poll? Rafa has been with us for 3.5 years - is that long enough for us to decide? Houllier was given more time. Souness was given no time because well...it was too obvious.
Ok bro rahl, when the new govt voted in..during their 1st term of 5 yrs, sligh improvement which every 1 can see and feel compare to the previous govt ,to me is acceptable..i will still give them my mandate for another 5 yrs.Being an opposition in the 1st place,u should be able to understand the main reason why the people vote out the previous govt, there's lots of things they can do,eg:taxes, erp, oil prices, subsidy, bills, amendment of some constitution,i believed all this can be done within their 1st term in the office. If after 2.5 yrs in the office all they can do is constitution amendment rest still remain the same for the next 2.5 yrs,is obvious that they still do not understand wat the people want, make things worse we end up paying even more without the increase in our income,so i guess is the time we start to consider their position in the next poll.

Rafa situation is similar to my eg above,i shall not mention about wat ever policy he implemented in our club as i've claimed earlier on that in football there is no such thing as right or wrong provided u master it,and also able to make a quick remedy if something goes wrong.Talk about this,i need to give u another eg to support my accusation against rafa.

Imagine,1 day there are 5 illegal imigrents with weapons land on our shore with unknown motive, home ministry received the report,do u think they will just sent out 10 police man from npp to handle this case?Tell u from wat i see, maybe 1 battalion of army will be mobilize, together wif sof,dog unit, cnb, ica, marine police, helicopter unit and so on..So why need to sent out such a big combination just to deal wif 5 illigal imigrents? The reason very simple, cos if u fail to get them, the consequence can be very serious.

Now we turn our attention back to the weekend Fa cup game against Barnsley.I've got a few simple question line up for rafa:

A)how much u know about this team called barnsley
B)do u know they r from the coca cola league that are 5th in the world league ranking above scottish premire and french league?
C)how u see this cup means to all the Liverpool supporters especially now we r virtually out of title race?
D)do u know we r playing in the knockout stage of this compitition?
E)wat u learn from last season when we got ko by gunners in both cup?
F)ru gonna do the same thing when we face the lower div team in the domestic cup next season?
G)supposed if...i said if we go all the way to the final of both cup which is only the gap of 4-5 days,is gerrard, torres, masca, reina all going to be rested or keep in the sub bench during Fa cup?
H)how u see the threat from the teams like everton, villa, manc?Inorder to qualify for the CL next season, how many pts u think we still can afford to throw away?
I)tell me wats ur plan for next season if ur still remain in this club?ru going to insist on ur current policy?wat about our league chances?champion..3pts behine the champion or more..5,8,12,16,20..?
J)lastly,do u hear the voice of this small group of WEAK LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS calling 4 ur head?

Ok bro rahl,my english really poor, hope u can understand...i've tried my very best to write already

Interesting points bro SKILLFULL LICK, especially the one quoted. Could you specify the source of the world league ranking? Want to read up about it. Thanks!

Hey bro, I base my analysis on what I can see in matches and what the players themselves say. I see a crisis of confidence. We have 10m pound players out there underperforming against weaker teams at home. Is it that players are over-rotated so that they lose confidence? I think it's much more than that. What has happened in the last few months? Pool being in the news for all the wrong reasons - the Yank owners, Rafa's spat with them, financing problem, DIC coming in, continued criticisms on Rafa's tactics, especially from a large section of the fans.

Hey no worries man, I get you just fine

I don't have a problem with your principle about continued improvement but two points:

1. Improvement might not be steady or continuous - what if there is a blip after 2 years of achievement? Do we continue to support or do we want to give the govt the benefit of the doubt for 1 more year? It's not so clear cut.

2. Your principle ignores causes. Yes politics is cruel sometimes. Don't talk about us since we have never voted out a govt for ages hehehe but George Bush Senior won the Gulf War yet was booted out because of the economic recession. Should we boot out the leaders just because we aren't doing well? Or do we want to understand what the causes are?

I have to say I agree with your last point - there is no right or wrong with anything really. Rafa and the players got to pick themselves up and salvage the season, if not all these arguments among the fans are moot.

Crunch time for the lads and Rafa...
Hope they can pick themselves up and give the supporters something to shout about.
Kinda have this feeling that this season is the last season for Rafa...
It will be a good match.

These I too have been saying all along The players get rotated so much that they don't know each other. Then how could you pass the ball well? No wonders our strikers are always off target.

That's the mystery, isn't it? It's frustrating to watch him repeat the same tactical mistakes over and over again. It is not as if he doesn't know his rotation is causing confusion. How mentally psyched up can our players be for games when they only know 1 hour before the game if they are playing?

It has reached a point where I dunno what to expect from our team anymore. Ask yourself this honestly, which Liverpool team will play against Inter tonight? The all conquering side or the misplaced passing side? Do you know now, 5 hours before the game?

As fans, criticisms of Liverpool doesn't mean we are weak fans. It hurts to say we suck too. You think we dun wish to say Liverpools rocks meh? But we got to be brave enough to call a spade a spade right? Regardless of how horrible we play or how low we sink in the league, I think a lot of us will continue to be Pool fans, even if we get relegated. But that doesn't mean we can't whine and make noise a bit if things aren't smooth sailing right?
