Rule #1 in Philippines - don't try to define LOGIC in Banana republic .... go with the flow and don't try to tell them that saving in taxi fare means more money to spend for ourself .. sometimes such logic flies, sometimes it is lilke "I am sure you have more more money in your pocket"

Fortunately except a rare few I meet, most know my spending power, and bluntly I tell them I can only burn X peso .. that's it ..

Ah, I mentioned before .. met a girl, and bought her dress and what not exceeding 5000 peso .. and when she stay for the night I told her, I have no more peso and only few S$ as I am getting back .. all ok. Morning she wake up and start off "can you spare me a couple of thousand peso" and when I said I am keeping 500 peso for airport tax + some more for taxi etc, she started to sulk ..

Well, i was that close to telling her .. that the 5,000 also was MY MONEY .. and she should have heard that I am not keeping much money .. left .. well, did I bother telling her ? No .. because the last thing I want to do is to reason and explain to her that if she needed money, she should have told me not to buy the gifts and swap them for cash .. and oh, she was a friend .. not pick up

Girls like that - happens once, then they are forgotten .. others who understands and tells me "darling, don't spend unnessecirily, better you pass me as cash so I can buy other things .. " I love them ... and appreciate them, and keep them in my "PLEASE DO REPEATEDLY LIST"

As for the girls not trying to bargain on your behalf, again, remember, she will take it is a good thing by helping a kababayan make some extra money .. after all, what does the church preach ?? Rich must give to poor di ba ?

Oh well, floods in CDO and everybody including president says "we have faith that the church .. " and church goes "we will do another round of collection from poor .. "

Poor ??? hello ?? the rich in Pinas can afford to more than rebuild the whole of CDO .. and well, just a 5% of their nett asset can feed a hundred thousand and more ..

PS: PNoy didn't party in the PSG party .. he only spent a few minutes - few minutes enough to listen to "THREE SONGS" and also hear some jokes and laugh and have some food .. oh well, only few minutes .. i told her, buying things for her/friends or family is at my discretion, at no point you can force your will on me. I can help you with your responsibilities but i am not going to share your responsibilities. I don't like their friends/relatives treating me as robert. no WAY manz.. i like you i treat u is ok. not u expect me to treat you when i am there.

Well, I am not in AC now but allow me to put my opinion to your question. Hotel Royal Amsterdam is a more classier hotel and I guess cost more. But since you tried Breeze, then money is not an issue for you.

This afternoon, Citicab called me to collect a taxi and since 3pm, I been driving round Singapore. Slipped home to check on this thread and am happy to see so many new fellas giving their opinions.

Now is the high season so not surprising that hotels in fields are fully booked.
You'd stand a better chance of finding accomodation further out. Last I heard was even the ABC was running at near full house.

If ur asking betwn these 2 places, i would recommend the Apartelle Royal. Just above the Camelot, Location is good, rooms are big, comfy & staff are super-friendly. A fren of mine stayed at the Bangkok hotel but was really unhappy with the service rendered during his stay.

In fact, i called the AR last week & they still have a couple of rooms left for early to mid-jan. 13-15 Jan AP fully booked. Depends on which dates in Jan ur refering to.

Hi bro, i've stayed in Swiss Hotel for a few times. The rooms are nice and comfy and service is rather good except that they are realli slow in checking their emails. Best is to give them a call, tell them u sent them an email for reservation and they shld be able to tell u there and then if and what types of rooms are available.
As bro Ziebart correctly pointed out, best one out in Fields is still Royal Amsterdam inmy opinion, great location, nice comfy king-sized bed (with better linen than Swiss i'd say) albeit a tad more expensive.

Fren stayed in Royal Apartelle once, feedback was quite good and easier on the wallet also. Only minus pts are that its on top of Camelot so can be noisy and not so good if u r a light sleeper and that no key drop like hotel so u gotta carry ur room keys everywhere with u.
