I've been in CP during the spring or autumn Canton fair quite a few times and I will be there in CP again end of next month. And from my past experience that hotel rooms were more 緊張 and 10% more expensive than usual. You will see more people during breakfast time in hotels and the traffic more hectic.
Actually less and less people are attending these canton fairs now and I dun see any problem for people to have a good time there if everything like hotel bookings are plan ahead. I think the Easter and Labor Day weekend might post more problems in 關口 and also longer waiting time in footie massage if no reservation made.

yeah, that my impression as well; need to pay extra and book early for CP hotels. Otherwise it is pretty much business as usual.....maybe slightly more crowded but then nowaday CP is always crowded.

And CA is even less affected by it.

Also it's lucky that the Buddha Birthday, a HK holiday ( normally falls on early May ) will be on May 17th this year. Otherwise it will be a quadro jeopardy ( canton fair, easter, labor day and buddha BD ) all in the same period.

Advice needed fr bro here, my flight tigerair eta SZ airport at 23:05 with no ptv car arrange, if I (alone) were to take a cab from outside airport to CA, I think they wont go by meter, so what is the fare i shd pay, thank in advance. Cheers

Come out from the international terminal and turn right and move to domestic terminal.... take the green taxi.... nego to RMB150 (fair price)...

Yes, it is important to note that the 'official' taxi queue is at the domestic terminal. Which is quite a long walk from the international terminal.
Sometime there are one or two taxi parked at the international terminal. They are waiting for "robert" only. Do not think anyone should take them.

Definitely so. CA is almost NOT affected at all during the Canton Fairs Spring or Autumn. If there is any it's NOT significant at all. Everything runs as per normal including the hotel rates unlike CP there s a 10% additional surcharge for better hotels. Smaller hotels in Cp r also charging the normal rates.

Some bros r spot on to say that less and less people r attending the Canton Fair now after more than 55years since it was started. It's losing it's relevance. Actually going to CP is also ok except that we have to pay 10% more for hotels and slightly more crowded.

SZ and DG are different county. The taxi can send but not allow to pick up passenger in DG even for green taxi. Thus they hv good "reasons" to ask for more.

Thus it would be better to make prior arrangement for a private cab fm CA.

Yes agreed that people arriving via tiger at night going to CA are better off making pior arrangement for transport. Cost should be around100- 130 only. Though I have not actually walk to the domestic terminal from international terminal, it does not look that near, and it could be tough if you have luggages.
Taking a taxi from the official taxi queue at the domestic terminal, it is very safe. But for the few taxi has been parked at the international terminal, I notice that some of them has been parked there for hours waiting for the right" target". Do not take them unless you are looking for adventure.
