Many different types of buchas like KMT, 4 face Buddha, Pikanet n so on.... I went there was to pay my respect to LP Pern. He was the 1st monk, I got to know in Thailand and slowly learn from there.
I oso heard that temple had become commercialised.

Btw, have u ever come across LP Pern yant? Not those yellow cloth 1. It's a very big portrait with 2 tiger, 2 peacock etc...

The long distance to there basically will drain your stamina out.

Wat Sotorn is quite near to BKK. An hour plus depending on driver will reach but other province will be tiring. Normally I will stay overnight if distance is far, like Phisanulok, Sukothai......

Re: Thai Amulets...

I took a cab there the very first time. The cab got no air con. he drive quite slow. A rough estimate i took about 2 hours to reach there. No idea who to look for i just roam around with friends. I even enter some one house thinking there are Long phor to ask for blessing. There are so many buddha statues to buy but how to carry it back.

the fruitful experience was to see a temple that its like covered with gold.

If BKK, then go those tourists temples, Wat Rakang, Wat Arun, Wat Saket, Wat Suthat....

If want to get out of BKK, then Ayuttaya, Nakorn Pathnom is less than 2 hours drive.

If u want beaches, then Huahin and Rayong.

If further, Phichi, Phisanulok....

I also dunno which to intro unless u know which province you want to go.

I like to go Huahin, there is wine vineyard, good place to have meal. Then still can go Wat Huay Mongkol. Night time enjoy the sea breeze.
