Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Sigh. This could really be the lowest point in Keane's career. After being a journeyman in his career, with so many clubs, he finally end up at the club he supports in a big money move. At the peak of his career somemore. Barely 6 months on and talk is that he will be kicked out of Anfield.
I guess when you are earning so many thousands of pounds weekly, the disappointment is easier to bear. I really hope he bucks up. He probably has 5 matches more to go before the January window opens. If we strengthen during the Jan window, our first title in 19 years may jolly well materialise. Tomorrow's delayed telecast of the Champions League match is at 6.30am. Can wake up slightly early to watch before going to work. Hope we field many many reserves. Rest those important legs of our regular 11. |

Nice work bunnytease on that part. If u r listening, keep keane with us. He will get better and give him chance he is really worth the buy give him time as well as the full 90 mins. Dun sub him. The more u sub him the lesser the confidence. Keep benayoun active 90mins too. The squad is too big. no more midfielders. no more central defender. We need a capable left back, a front something like David Villa who gives u the goals when there is very little chances. A fighter too. WE have been firing blanks, weak shots, lowconfidence attempts. We have a striker who does weak shots but good placing in Keane and a striker with good placing and strength and bravery in Torres. So finger crossed, dun sell him

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
From Soccernet.
Full Name Emiliano Insua Birth Date January 7, 1989 Birth Place Buenos Aires Height 1.65m Weight 66 kg Age 19 Position Defender Squad # 48 Insua is a promising player as he has shown in the last few league matches of last season. But at 1.65m, I wonder if he is too small size for a defender. How to defend corners against taller, bulkier players? Almost like Singapore Vs Mymmar in height differences. Do you guys see him as a left midfielder eventually? Can he compete for a place against the likes of Riera? Do you see us buying Warnock back at some stage later? His tackle on Benyanoun was good. Can anyone clarify what's the local player rule for Champions League? Rafa says we must have 4 home-grown players right? What's home-grown? Someone like Insua who is Argentine but graduated from our Academy can or not? If really want pure-bred from Liverpool... we may not be able to rest Gerrard and Carragher right? |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
He's now 5'8 which is 1.72 (according to official site). He certainly looks of decent height on the field, definitely not 1.65. Also, a wingback doesn't have to be too tall. What's important in defending is good judgment and a good leap.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
do share d same sentiments wif some bros here tt tonite's game agt PSV gonna end in a draw. psv has got nothg to play for. read online tt rafa doesnt mind settling for 2nd place as Pool may potentially meet 1 of d dangerous big boys if they finished 1st.
furthermore, it'd b wise if he reserves some of his players for his EPL title pursuit this wk end. probly a few of d 2nd stringers will get their chance. they r nt dat bad, while psv r not that good either so they'll even out ea other for a DRAW which im sure Rafa will gladly accept.

Uefa define a homegrown player as somebody aged from 15 to 21, and developed either by that club or a team from the same country. (So nationality not an issue, right ?) From all the 25 "A" list players in the Champion League squad,UEFA regulations stipulate four players must be 'association trained' (in England,it means they are produced by an English academy), while four must be 'domestic association trained' (produced by the club's academy). A domestic association-trained player is defined as a player who has been registered for a minimum of three seasons with the club between the age of 15 and 21, whereas an association-trained player is one who has been registered for at least three seasons by the club or by other clubs affiliated to the same association between the age of 15 and 21. Insua only joined us in Jan 2007,so he is not a homegrown player yet. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I think everyone of us is a better football manager than anyone they employed anytime. Sometimes, it is so puzzling that for all the purpose they bought a player, they like to play them out-of-position, while the players used to thrive before being bought or even thrive after they are sold, so ironic.
go for the 3-4-3, you will have 7 in defence, and 7 in attack Carragher - Agger - Arbeloa Kuyt - Alonso - Gerrard - Mascherano Keane in the hole behind Torres n Babbel |

A shout also to Lucas, who did really well in midfield, made a goal and should have scored himself. Also to the three English lads who came on for a taste of the CL. Now let's focus on the league. |

1. How come our jersey don't have sponsor logo? Given our champions league pedigree, the logo would have been a good source of revenue for us. 2. Riera's goal is like a missile. Straight and fast. No curl or loft whatsoever. It's great to see him score after he says he wants to score more goals in our official website just a few days ago. 3. Ngog's finishing is very calm for a 19 year old. 2 touches and the ball is in the net. Hopefully can see more of him. Could jolly well be the bargain of the year. Given the team that played at PSV, i think we can roughly guess the team for the weekend. A lot of key players are rested. Reina, Gerrard, Alonso, Kuyt, Benyanoun, Hyypia. |
