for me my preference is to place nang kwak infront of the door/courtyard.
as it is well know to invite wealth luck and business.

for placing at altar, nang kwak is to be siting lower than sakyamuni ,kuan yin, four face Buddha....cos nang kwak is a spirit/fairly.
