I intend to stay in Zh for 4 nights (hotel rmb188 daily); just simple meals at those family-style restaurants; no KTV, no booze, very little shopping & foot massage only

Yes, my back-up plan is another $300 slipped in my dirty laundry in the bag (just in case).

when u spend within ur budget, it means disclipine ...

the difference is how big a budget u can plan ....

I like this restaurant at the start/end of LHL selling Shanghai xiao long bao.

Cheap as well.

Maybe the game is how much you are prepared to lose. In your case, your experience is that you believe it is not worth it at all..... you don't want to lose, and have seen enough loss to frighten you. Some have to go thru' it

And as to Jesper, I feel it would be good for him to go thru' one (am I cruel?), he is still young (22 only) and he have made a prepared loss of 1K. Good for him.

Just a word of caution, the KC game start at 1k lo.......

food is not expensive in china and if u r with a grp of cheong buddies ..
100rmb for 2 normal meal is sufficient ...

for ktv gal tips r 200rmb .. thus i am not sure how bro murali can pay 100rmb ... maybe old aunties sit with him ....
or maybe he share the KTV gal with another brother ....

ON in ZH for KTV gals is 1000rmb ... but in CP or CA, the normal rate is 800rmb ..
i usually give 1000rmb regardless it's in ZH, CP or CA ... unless the gal service sucks big time ...
