Looks like alot of Hangzhou / West Lake kakis here, it indeed is a world class attraction like sinoview says with all the willow tress at the park and side areas, i find the ambience and scenery comparable to the scenic places of interest in beijing...

that is why in ancient china they say, 上有天堂，下有苏杭... but er i have my doubts abt the 苏 as in suzhou, i was cheated by this saying haha

Undeniably we have many kakis here...i remember my tour guide told us the leaves and bark of the willow tree have been mentioned as a remedy for aches and fever..haha for Suzhou i got NO comment keke

Yes, compare to Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, etc...Huizhou is cheaper in term of food and lodging. As i spend most of my time living in china, i am quite concerned about the price (no extra money to spend so have to be cheapo).

I will be in Huizhou / DS between 12th Nov ~ 15th Nov 2010. (via HKIA)
Just wondering any brothers will be around whom i could join in for some KTV session where I could better understand those infamous KJ in Jing Ye.

Sauna scene is another place where i will sure explore and would like to meet up with bros for a chill in the pub or a makan session if bros are in Huizhou / DS.

There's serious yanda champaign in DS now. Started since last month.

Most sauna are limping at most their operation are at half the usual mode. Not sure if u go there.....

The water bed in the sauna are "dismantled" so it seems like a longer term yanda than before.


If i ll U , i ll just proceed to CP whereby the activities still seem normal as of now.

Regarding sauna scene in HZ, all the sauna that i mentioned previously in this thread is still operating normal. PM me if you need more information.
There is a pub you must try if you are there. The pub is called 'su ba' 苏吧, located at maidi road. A lot of office ladies clubbing there every night. High chance to get ons.

If you never been to any hot spring in China, you must try it – especially if you have MM providing company. I can still remember my first visit to a Chinese hot spring – that was in 1984 when I visited Zhaoqing 肇庆, about 90km from Guangzhou that also boast tourist attractions like the Seven Star Crags七星岩 & Star Lake星湖 But those days, obviously no local MM since the authorities even frowned on foreigners (overseas Chinese included) making small talks with local MMs although some of us were more adventurous than others. Luckily, I went with my gf from Hong Kong and they do not care about foreigners sharing room.

And one of my most memorable experience was when I went with a Hongkee friend to check out the one (its name escaped me) near BaoAn in Shenzhen over one long weekend in the early 90s when the local MMs started to get more daring, and we were doing our regular reckky trip. We arrived at the resort to find many MMs loitering suspiciously in the garden, the lake areas and didn’t take us long (with the tell-tale smiles and eye-contacts) to find out that they are all offering to 陪洗 and more. Those were the days before the rich Chinese and randy Taiwanese arrived, and we took advantage of the private facilities offered - starting with 1MM, then 2MMs… and more – and we found ourselves plenty of eager offerings when words got around that there are two horny guys having never ending scrub (but more like rubs and bonks) in the hot springs. But good thing never lasted, the MMs were no where to be found on our return visit a month later. One more sweet memory from the good old days!

The hot springs these days are mainly part of resorts - some are very posh indeed, so the facilities are generally quite good although maintenance is always an issue in China. But many are quite far from the main town center and they can get expensive. There are plenty of choices in Guangdong Province – other than Longmen Tiequan & QY’s Qingxin, I’ve visited include Dragon Attractive Bay聚龙湾 (that has two two resorts – one in ZhongShan and another one in QY that hosted the World Model Contestants earlier this year) and Ocean Spring珠海海洋温泉 at Zhuhai Ocean Spring Resort珠海海泉湾温泉度假村managed by HongKong CTS and is an integrated resort boasting two 5-stars hotels. There are many many others – including one in Duhuzhen in Taishan台山市都斛镇where many overseas Chinese came from – it’s the Taishan FuDu Hot Spring Resort富都温泉度假村that a friend said has a hot spring with man-made snow for novelty in addition to the open air hot spring pools – again, must BYO.

Yes, China so big big, not enough time to visit them all. But for me, bigger challenge – so many MMs so little time…

If I'm going from CP,(should be taking pte transport) which is a better choice to go? In terms of distance which is closer to CP by car?

Qingyuan or Longmen? In terms of hot spring, which is better, less crowd, more comfortable.. going there to relax, so will not want to fight with locals over useage of hotspring or meals etc..

Will be going after xmas so I think maybe a bit more crowd? Will be there for only 2 days, so dun really like to spend the time on travelling.

Pleasure is mine, great if I can be of help, bro prcsytlover. However, bearing in mind that how fast things change in China, and it has been at least 4 years since I last visited the hot spring in QY, my info can be out-dated. So, I can only talk in general.

In term of distance, as bro SBX has noted, Longmen is probably slightly nearer in physical distance. But with the highway, I suspect it takes about the same time to travel by private taxi to either QY or LM, especially since a section of the road to LM is off the highway. But if you're taking public transportation, it is a lot easier to get to QY by traveling via the train to GZO and then the frequent buses to QY. It sounds like the road from LM to the Tiequan Hot spring has improved, but one side of the road was badly affected by the cement-laden trucks during our last visit and it took us a lot longer than expected to get there as my friend driving the car need to navigate the numerous pot holes.

Easier accessibility will mean more people and I expect QY to see more crowd especially during the weekend and with increasing number of locals owning car. I personally prefer those with less people, and that usually mean week days rather than weekends since I find the negative behavior of the new rich Chinese and loud tourists can easily spoil my mood. I believe LM Tiequan will not be as crowded on a week day in the winter – and no where for MM to shop and thus ensuring full attention for you in the evening. But if you are unlucky, you get group of people (like SBX’s encounter with students or a company’s outing) that can spoil the mood. However, QY does offer an advantage in that if anything happened between you and MM, you can easily send her back on the public transportation and you can explore the QY’s numerous KTVs or BBSs for immediate replacements.
