Two of the reported candidates to fill Rafa Benitez's vacated Liverpool hotseat have ruled themselves out of the running.

The agents of Frank Rikjaard and Guus Hiddink have distanced their clients from the post claiming they intend to see out their contracts in Turkey.

Rikjaard is the manager of Turkish giants Galatasaray while Hiddink has recently taken on the job of managing Turkey's national team.

Rikjaard's agent Perry Overmeers said, "Rumours linking Frank to Liverpool are just that, rumours."

Cees van Nieuwenhuizen, Hiddink's agent, echoed this sentiment. "Guus has shown over the years that he is loyal to agreements that he signed." he said.

"There is no reason today why he would change such behavior. Guus just started two weeks ago in Turkey and as much as he likes the Premier League and as much as he respects Liverpool as a legendary club with a great future ahead, a switch ould be hardly doable. Two weeks ago for the same reason he refused the position at Inter Milan post Jose Mourinho."

However one man who is not ruling out the possibility of a move to Anfield is former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Ivory Coast boss said, "I have been a Liverpool fan all of my life."

"I have never mentioned it when I was in charge of England because I didn't think it was fair. It is every manager's dream to manage Liverpool."

i guess it's the ultimate wish of every Liverpool fan to see King Kenny back as manager. i wonder whats stopping him .. when he has the managerial experience and expertise ... and he knows the fans all adore him.

If Maradona fails the hurdle in the 1st round in the WC, im not sure whether the Argentinian fans will still treat him as GOD even if he has won the WC with them before.

I tink King Kenny is unwilling to take up the reins as things have changed a lot since he last managed us and he has been out of management for some time. Maybe he doesn't feel up to it and he wouldn't want to get himself into s**t and then end up being sacked and tarnish his legendary status at the club...

Prob he got too much to lose and the climate at de club now being the way it is, he would be risking too much for a very small chance to suceed. I tink harry redknap should come in and see if he can do the same magic as wad he performed at spurs.

As much as I adore and think King Kenny is the best Liverpool player ever, I really don't want him to be our manager for a few reasons:

(1) He's been out of touch with managerial duties for so long. The game is played differently now. True he got us our last premier league champions but that was like what, 10yrs ago? It'll take a while for him to come to terms with the pace but time is not a luxury we have.

(2) The question of "what if" is always gona be there. What if things don't turn out as well as fans expected? His legendary reputation is at stake, a very big stake. Given his lack of "pressure management" (he did walked away from Liverpool because of pressure) and his age, having him as a manager is risky.

(3) He's doing very well as Liverpool ambassador and I think we should keep it that way. His role will help to convince our key players to stay and show them that they can be part of the Liverpool folklore (like the King himself) if they stay committed and produced results.

The King will always be special and let's keep it that way. Its better to get someone who's hungry and passionate to deliver success no matter which club he's in... Martin O'Neil anyone?

Just to digress a little, perhaps when once Rafa Benitez finds a new club to take charge of; he will come in for his "son" Lucas Leiva and take him away.

I would have thought that since RB treasures him so much, he would definitely bring him over to whatever new club that he is coaching and play him as the first choice of one of the two holding midfielders in RB's new team!

Coming back to the topic, I agree with most bros that Sven is not a good choice. For me, I really fancy Martin O'Neal. He is a sound tactician and I think he will be able to turn around the fortunes for our great club. Lets see...

well rafa made us a european pwerhse again did he not, 2 champions league finals n 1 semifinal,wins at barcelona,inter milan,real madrid,they cld not fcuk with us in europe but they got rid of him cos of 1 bad season,well i guess he s off to inter now,rumour as it that pool have found a buyer who have thier own man to take over,they did not want to come in n ask rafa to leave as this wld have made the new owners unpopular with the fans,another point they cld not sell any players with out rafa s approval cos that was in his clause,now they can sell the best players,4 gods sake that fucking chairman is a chelsea fan he wants to get toress to chelsea,hope u so called pool fans r happy now that rafa s gone n so r our best players,in my opion mon,hodgson n sumone said redknapp( who jus sits there n hopes his players save him when they losing) is a step back 4 us.the media n the pool board jus fucked up rafa.well at least he left with dignity.i wish to see jc n sg to take over pool as a management team,it might have come 4 yrs early but i feel now is the time 4 them to take over.
