Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Just received this in my email.

Spirit Of Shankly - ShareLiverpoolFC - Meeting with Chinese Consortium

Spirit of Shankly - ShareLiverpoolFC have been approached by the representatives of Mr. Kenny Huang who has restated his position as the representative of a serious bid for the ownership of Liverpool FC.

They have stated that Mr. Huang intends to be in Liverpool in the near future and he has asked to meet with representatives of Spirit of Shankly – ShareLiverpoolFC. They have said that the reason he wishes to meet with the supporters' organisations is that the bidders see Spirit of Shankly - ShareLiverpoolFC as key stakeholders in the Club and the views of supporters are critical to the way they approach any deal.

They have made it clear that any discussion would be entirely without prejudice, in order to learn more about Spirit of Shankly – ShareLiverpoolFC, what the organisations want and to see if there are mutual areas of agreement.

We cautiously welcomed the approach and restated our position, made clear recently, that we are keen to engage with those charged with selling the Club and any credible potential purchasers. We recognise that the intentions of any potential purchasers need to be thoroughly examined prior to any purchase of the Club and involvement and discussion with supporters is key to that.

However, the Club, their agents and any potential purchasers need to recognise where the supporters' organisations came from - they were born out of the betrayal by the current owners of promises they made when they purchased the Club and their action and behaviour afterwards.

In the same way that no potential purchaser will commit to any wish list from the supporters, Spirit of Shankly - ShareLiverpoolFC will not supply any endorsement to any potential purchaser without the most rigorous of examinations. This examination will include:

1. That they will be proper custodians of Liverpool FC recognising and never forgetting the unique nature of this Club;

2. That they invest proper equity into the Club to eliminate the current debt and to provide the funds to undertake the capital expenditure necessary to rebuild the Club including a solution to the stadium challenge and sufficient funds to allow the team to properly compete on the field;

3. That they are serious about engaging positively to seek ways in which the supporters are able to obtain an equity stake, with proper representation at Board level, within the Club.

We will keep you updated on any developments.

Spirit Of Shankly - ShareLiverpoolFC

Hope this is true and all bidders are smart enough not to enrich the Yanks and put the money where the club's interests are.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

it's official:Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Christian Poulsen after the midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old, who has been capped 77 times by Denmark, arrives from Italian giants Juventus and will wear the No.28 shirt.

Poulsen has previously worked with Roy Hodgson at FC Copenhagen, where he was given his first big break by the current Reds boss.

i'm not getting excited at all... hope i'm wrong again....

glad to see kelly scored on his debut for england u-21!! think tis will be THE season for him to make a break into the big scene....!!!
gerrard also scored 2 goals last nite, but not happy to see him played for 60+ min, and johnson played full 90 min.. wtf, thot frenly is for capello to judge younger, untested player?!!
agger also played full 90 min for denmark...

Ozil may not wish to join us due to uncertainty in ownership and no CL. Anyone keep track of our expenses? Poulsen is probably signed with money from Benyanoun's deal. Jovanovic and Cole is free. Where else did we spend money on? The rest are young players for the future right?

We have no or low transfer budget again?

Some things cannot use money to compare.
Poulsen is like a "lucky" charm in the footballing world.
Every club he has been to was just about average when he joined them but they all went on to win something after he joined them.

His bazhi is water base, with strong mountain background and volcanic fire.
This type of bazhi character is sought after by many chinese businessmen because they make very good employee for the company.

I believe he will be a very good signing for Liverpool.

We are spending on the expected income from the sale of Mascherano.
The Yanks are screwed if Mascherano dun go.

Interest payment = $2.5 million p/week.

Anyway, don't really think that poulsen will play that many games. Prolly use him as a hacker when we play the arse (he is kinda of a chao player). Just get bellamy back and we'll see our red cards tally increase

Poulsen's style is like Sammi Hypia / Didi Hamann
Excellent reading of the game and cool as cucumber and a Master of the "professional" fouls.
With him around I think our defence will not be as panicky as last season.

Bellamy's body is breaking up.
He has become prone to injuries and at this age will be hard for him to recover quickly.
If we take him back he would be spending most of his time on the bench rather than on the field.
Between him and Peter Crouch I would rather Crouchie come back.

Not praising our rival here, RH should really think about what AW did to Arsenal all this while. That is to put faith in the youth team. We have so many talented youth in our club and why not using them. I hope he won't repeat the stupidness of the former manager by overlooking this.Isn't our captain from the youth Academy?

Oh right? Our dear AW is hoping for his squad to add one more year to their ages every year so they may challenge for the title.

Over-rated manager.

You can make the reverse argument about JM who likes to sign players in their 30s and has won titles everywhere he's gone.

The age factor doesn't win titles.

And do try to understand that signing older players who are experienced cheaply is the best the club can do in these financial circumstances.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Well, you hit the nail in the coffin! You are right about about the financial situation where limited fund is available and thus you only can hope and pray someone like Joe Cole will sign for you. How many of this Joe is available and willing to join Liverpool? If the youngsters at the academy is potential enough, why not?You are not serious are you on Liverpool challenging for the title this season? If RH/RB has the kitty like JM in Chelsea and RM, they will also do the same and win title! But on the other note, RM and MC had spent so much but they ended up with nothing wor !

All I am saying is the current policy is a temporary thing until the sale is done.

Youngsters? I have seen our fans turn on youngsters once they have a bad game and given up on them: Ngog, Plessis, Spearing, El Zhar, Insua.

If you can name a team of youngsters and not just one youngster like Pacheco, then maybe you have an argument.

I think Pacheco and Kelly have great potential and should be given a chance to break into the team this season. But there is no need to go AW's way. It's not my way or the highway.

So pls don't drag out that old chestnut in London for reference. His glory days are far behind him.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Nevertheless we fans must be patient with young blood. There are a few now that really deserve their chance. I have said it before and will say it again, gerrard and carra are the last of the successful stepup from the youth academy. We really need more of them coming thru.
