Wat Jamie Carragher said on not criticising FT does make some sense.

Liverpool bought him fr Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2007 for a fee of around £21.5 million. In Jan 2011, Liverpool Fc managed 2 sell him 2 chelsea 4 a reported £50 million. FT transfer could happen during Jan transfer window or during the summer, no point keeping him here.

Luis Suárez was born on 24 Jan 1987.(24 yrs old fr last month)
Andrew Carroll was born on 6 Jan 1989.(22 yrs old fr last month)
FT was born on 20 Mar 1984.(27 yrs old come March 2011)

The Reds spent an additional £7.5 million on top of the £50 million they got fr the sale of FT, & got themselve 2 younger players with lots of potential.

No matter hw good FT is, he will grow old.

Read this in KD's blog........ apparently the same situation happened during his 1st term as manager of LFC.

One day Ian Rush went to see him in his office and requested a transfer as an Italian club had made him an irresistable offer........ Rushie was adamant about leaving so KD let him go....... he then signed Peter Beardsley from Newcastle for $1.9 million which was the British record transfer fee of that time...... LFC went on to win the EPL that season.

i agree with u on the need 2 hv depth in the squad, with quality of course.
with 38 EPL games + FA cup + Carling cup + european games + international games, easily over 50 games needs 2 be play over a 10 months period.
