Thumbs up 1915 Singapore and 2015 Singapore a world of differences ...

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

1914 to 2015 is only a hundred years or 1 century of Singapore. But you can see a world of difference today compare to 1914, a hundred years back to the time this Singapore was under the British governor. Do you think your white Brit government was kind enough to give 10% of their hard earned UK economy money to finance build infrastructure for you non-white British Subjects Chinese? Fat hope?

So you thought under the British rule Singapore was funded by British governor built roads and infrastructures for Singapore, non-white British Subjects Singaporeans like you.

Same situation as today, msm were controlled by the British and the government earnings and revenues were blocked like PAP blocked the public access TH. So where do the easy drug money goes? Of course back to British Empire for their empire expansion.

Drug money is easy money, Just give back 10% of the drug money to built this tiny islands for the locals and make them happy. Then keep sending back money to UK to create unsustainable innovating new products to entice the drug addicts non-British Subjects Asian Chinese . Technical innovation technology will not last long and has to keep improving and therefore required huge amount of funding and finances to get it going to the next step. Where to find the money? Again drug money is a cheap source of money, like your CPF money.

If this is 1915, your era under the white British governor and you are their British Subjects (no voting rights) and they dominion over you which allowed them to do anything to you and they are the drug lords and make you drug addicts.

Are you happy to live in that era 1915 today, 100 years back?

Think about it. Also think when this Chinese man as Singapore government says:

“I make no apologies that the PAP is the Government and the Government is the PAP.”
- Lee Kuan Yew, Petir, 1982

He dominion over you and like the British 1915 can do as he please?

We learned that the opium trade was freely indulged in, at Singapore, fostered by the Government. Singapore is a large city of about 300,000 inhabitants, a great number of which are Chinese. It has wide, beautiful streets, fine government buildings, magnificent quays and docks-a splendid European city at the outposts of the Orient. We found that a large part of its revenue is derived from the opium traffic-from the sale of opium, and from license fees derived from shops where opium may be purchased, or from divans where it may be smoked. The customers are mainly Chinese.

I wanted to visit these Government-licensed opium shops and opium dens. A friend lent me two servants, as guides. We three got into rickshaws and went down to the Chinese quarter, where there are several hundred of these places, all doing a flourishing business. It was early in the afternoon, but even then, trade was brisk. The divans were rooms with wide wooden benches running round the sides, on which benches, in pairs, sharing a lamp between them, lay the smokers. They purchased their opium on entering, and then lay down to smoke it. The packages are little, triangular packets, each containing enough for about six smokes. Each packet bears a label, red letters on a white ground, "Monopoly opium."

So has Singapore changed? Overseas Chinese 华侨人 are daft and stupid back in 1915 and today still the same daft in 2015? Still think angmoh are the best?
