Typhoons usually crated in the Pacifics and sweeps from east towards west according to the momentum against planet earth's self-rotation, it follows self-rotation with a lag and falls behind the rotation usually. Hence it looks alike moving against the self-rotation, but it actuality, it follows partially with a latency.

Usually they will weaken at landfall and slow down and subside.

But Not this time. It stays, it turn back from west to east and STRENGTHEN at the sea! It is picking up...
